FORT DODGE, Iowa — A Colorado man is facing charges of assault for throwing water on Rep. Steve King, a controversial Republican U.S. Representative from Iowa. Rep. King was having a group lunch at the Mineral City Mill and Grill restaurant in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Friday when he was approached by a man who inquired about his identity. According to a spokesperson from the Fort Dodge Police Department, after learning the man at the table was King, the suspect then threw a glass on water on King. It's unclear if the man said anything to the U.S. representative when the alleged assault took place. The release states others at the table with King were also splashed and police were called. “Based on witness information, it is believed Mr. King was specifically targeted due to his position as a United States Representative,” a spokesperson for the police department said in the release. The suspect was identified as Blake Gibbins 26, of Lafayette, and was charged two counts of simple assault and one count of disorderly conduct. Megan and Fadil Lee's love story started when the two were freshmen in college, and it may have ended there had Fadil not sent Megan a Facebook message 25 years later. “I was like, OK, is he single or married?” Megan recalls. Dr. Magarelli is helping the couple conceive through IVF. “The uterus doesn't age; it’s a muscle. So, they've done successful IVF and women with donor egg up to age 74 and still got healthy babies,” Dr. Magarelli says. Megan is planning to use her own eggs, but the reality is most older women use frozen or donor eggs. “Once you reach the age of 44 and above the number of eggs that are available to make a baby are preciously few, so most families at some point will use donor eggs,” Dr. Magarelli says. There are significant risks for both mother and baby, including gestational diabetes, pregnancy-induced hypertension, as well as pregnancy loss. Babies also have a higher risk of chromosome abnormalities, such as Down syndrome. Megan and Fadil say they are aware of the risks and are being proactive. “We are going to do genetic testing on the embryos because of our age,” Megan says. “So, we want to make sure that all the chromosomes are supposed to be there are there in full and complete.” These come along with a hefty price tag. In just a few days, New York could be the first state in the country to ban declawing cats, unless it's for medical reasons. Cities like Los Angeles and Denver already outlaw it. Dr. Aubrey Lavizzo, with Paw Project Colorado, stopped declawing cats years ago, and he helped lead the charge to banning it in Denver. “It's a mutilation,” he says. “Basically, partial digital amputation is an amputation without cost. That's a mutilation, so it's cruel for that reason.” That's why he's excited to hear New York might become the first state in the country to ban declawing. Gov. Andrew Cuomo has to sign the bill that would forbid declawing for "cosmetic or aesthetic reasons." If the bill becomes law, those who violate it could face a ,000 fine. “Finally it's going to happen, and once that happens, I think it will create a domino effect. I'm pretty sure it will,” says Dr. Lavizzo. The New York Veterinary Medical Society opposes the bill, arguing that declawing should be allowed "when the alternative is abandonment or euthanasia." The group released a statement, saying in part "cats that would lose their home if not declawed face a higher risk of euthanasia than if their owner were able to care for them." However, Dr. Lavizzo says cat relinquishments have dropped 20 percent in Denver since the ban. “I'm not saying that's connected, but it does say that you know people are not relinquishing your cats because he can't get them declawed in Denver,” Dr. Lavizzo says. Later, she received a Jet Blue credit card in the mail, for which she had also not signed up. She said she also received an alert from Bank of America about a second credit card that she had no knowledge of."Then, at that point, I said, 'OK, there’s something going on here,'" she said.USPS released this statement: In a very few cases, an individual’s identity has already been compromised by a criminal who then has used it to set up an Informed Delivery Account.
