SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man who groped and sexually assaulted four female students as they walked to their off-campus housing near SDSU pleaded guilty Monday.Minda Shewangizaw, 20, pleaded guilty to charges including felony and misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment and sexual battery.All four victims in the case, who ranged in age from 17 to 19, testified during the preliminary hearing.One of the victims said she and her roommate were walking home after midnight when Shewangizaw came up behind her and “grabbed her butt.RELATED: Women testify against UC Riverside student accused of groping near San Diego State”Her roommate said she noticed someone walking behind them before he began to chase them. According to the poll, Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar is leading the race, followed by Republican Carl DeMaio and Republican Darrell Issa. Meanwhile, the poll is also an indication of how district residents feel about a number of issues, including impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. To get the data, SurveyUSA interviewed 770 voting-age individuals in California’s 50th Congressional District between September 27 and October 2. Of the voting-age individuals surveyed, 671 are registered to vote in the state. 592 of those registered voters were likely to vote in the 2020 California Primary, SurveyUSA says. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A partnership with the United Way and the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council pulled off a donation drive-through at SDCCU Stadium Tuesday morning that served 500 families in need.Cars holding vouchers from the various unions represented by the council lined up and proceeded through the assembly line, loading up with food and toys donated by their fellow workers.Every year, thousands of union workers make a monthly donation from their paychecks to assist their fellow working families and community members in need. This year's recipients included fire victims and other families identified by several non-profit partners, according to representatives with the Labor Council."You've got electricians and teachers out here helping school bus drivers and janitors and security guards, those who have fallen on hard times and need a little extra help," says Keith Maddox with the Labor Council.Holding two events, one in San Diego and the other in Imperial County, 650 families total were served by the annual donation drive.Feeding San Diego helps procure the food for the drive, according to Unions United/United Way of San Diego County President and CEO Nancy Sasaki. 1209

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A reported threat to San Diego State University campus was deemed not credible, according to campus police.University police were told of a person making "incoherent threats" on campus Thursday morning. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A North Park gym owner who defied the governor's health order and moved workouts indoors was served with a violation notice from the county, threatening ,000 daily fines. Owner Frank Kole initially complied with last month's order and moved everything outdoors, but after five days made the decision to go back inside. That's because he says the sidewalks outside his gym were littered with feces, blood stains, and trash. Kole instead instituted strict rules indoors, requiring masks and social distancing. But the county, while acknowledging the tough reality outside, still served him with the violation, saying it was the law. Immediately, he and his staff discovered a syringe on the sidewalk as they were setting up equipment. The city of San Diego power washed the sidewalk on Wednesday, but Kole says it was a quick job without trash pickup. "If we weren't out there cleaning that sidewalk up everyday, that needle would still be there," Kole said. A spokeswoman for the city of San Diego says environmental crews will pick up syringes with biohazard boxes when they encounter them.
