We have conducted 40 million more tests then the next closest nation, which is India. We developed a wide array of effective treatments, including a powerful antibody treatment known as convalescent plasma. You saw that? On Sunday night when we announced it. That will save thousands and thousands of lives. Thanks to advancements, we have pioneered the fatality rates, and you look at it, and you look at the numbers, it has been reduced by 80 percent since April — 80 percent.The United States has among the lowest case fatality rates of any major country anywhere in the world. The European Union’s case fatality rate is nearly three times higher than ours, but you don’t hear that. They do not write about that. They don’t want to write about that. They do not want you to know those things. Altogether, the nations of Europe have experienced a 30 percent greater increase in excess mortality than the United States. Think of that.We enacted the largest package of financial relief in American history. Thanks to our Paycheck Protection Program, we have saved or supported more than 50 million American jobs. That’s one of the reasons we’re advancing so rapidly with our economy. Great job. As a result, we have seen the smallest economic contraction of any nation, and we are recovering at a much faster rate than anybody.Over the past three months, we have gained over nine million jobs, and that is a record in the history of our country. Unfortunately, from the beginning, our opponents have shown themselves capable of nothing but a partisan ability to criticize.When I took bold action to issue a travel ban on China — very early indeed — Joe called it hysterical and xenophobic. And then I introduced a ban on Europe, very early again. If we had listened to Joe, hundreds of thousands more Americans would have died. (KGTV) - Burglars left behind a trail of destruction at two locations, which included an apparent attempt to delay a Poway family's return home.Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, doorbell video shows Diana's family pulling out of their driveway in Poway, bound for a jujitsu class in Kearny Mesa. After that class, they discovered one of the tires on their van flattened. The culprit: the metal valve on that tire had been sliced. They got their van towed to a mechanic and received an Uber ride to their home off Pomerardo Road, arriving just before 7:15 p.m."The first thing we noticed was our doorbell was on the ground," said Diana.Her Ring doorbell had been yanked out. Inside the home was darkness."Our power was cut. It was pitch black. My kids were terrified," said Diana.Her kids, ages 8 and 10, remained outside while her husband, Jay, went inside with a phone light."I thought someone took a sledgehammer to the house, or a hammer, or a bat," said Jay.The trail of destruction up his staircase was caused by none of those things. Instead, the damage was made by their 400 lb. safe, shoved out of their bedroom by the intruders."What they likely did was roll it on its side and shove it down the steps," said Diana.Inside the safe were two iPads, two watch winders and a gold-and-diamond Rolex watch that Jay had spent years saving for.Turns out the burglars had gone to the side of the house, opened up the electrical box and cut the power, before drilling open a keyhole in the patio door. But another action is perhaps the most disturbing part of the crime. In the video, moments after they leave, you can hear an engine start. A van appears to follow their van. Diana believes some of the burglars followed them to their class and flattened their tire to delay their trip home."Just feels vulnerable and violating," said Diana.The van that was following them was a blue van, possibly a Dodge Caravan. President Donald Trump acknowledged for the first time Thursday that his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, is representing him with regards to legal matters involving Stormy Daniels, the porn star who says she had an affair with Trump.On Cohen, the President both solidified his link with Cohen on the Stormy Daniels matter and distanced himself from his personal attorney, whom Trump said has overseen "a tiny, tiny little fraction" of his legal work. President Donald Trump has nominated Amy Coney Barrett as his choice to become the next Associate Justice to the Supreme Court. This is the third vacancy while Trump has been president.Trump’s announcement Saturday is eight days after the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Trump reflected on Ginsburg's passing, saying the country “mourned the loss of a true American legend. She was a legal giant and a pioneer for women.”Barrett also spoke about Ginsburg and her legacy for women in the legal profession and all Americans. She clerked for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in 1998 and 1999. Scalia and Ginsburg had a close friendship, despite their strong legal disagreements.
