BEIJING - The number of commercial bribe cases dealt with by Chinese courts rose to 4,406 in the first seven months, an increase of 8.2 percent over the same period of last year, according to the Supreme People's Court (SPC) on Saturday.Xiong Xuanguo, vice-president of the SPC, said the number of cases featuring corporate wrong-doings rose 37.3 percent and cases relating to individual employees of companies jumped by 52.1 percent.Of the 3,748 commercial bribery cases that have been closed this year, 94.1 percent involved civil servants, Xiong said.A total of 31,119 commercial bribery cases were dealt with in China in the past two years before August 2007, with 7.079 billion yuan (US2.51 million) involved, said Li Yufu, deputy director of the leading group on anti-commercial bribery under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The baozi were said to have been fed to dogs.Zi used a home DVD camera to film the entire process and turned in his report after he edited it.Zi hid the truth to the Beijing Television Station, enabling his program to be aired in a slot known as "Transparency" on July 8 at the Live Channel of the station. The program caused baneful social effects and severely ruined the reputation of the relevant commodities, according to the court ruling.Zi pledged guilty at the court and said he was muddled-head at that moment, which cheated Beijing Television Station and the audience.Zi made a sincere apology to the audience, Beijing Television Station and the people concerned. The United States was the first country to establish an official deposit insurance scheme, during the Great Depression in 1934. Currently, nearly 100 countries have such an arrangement in place. The lack of deposit insurance in China is related to the fact that most of the banks in the country are State-owned, which offer confidence to depositors, analysts said.
