Body camera video released Friday shows YouTube shooter Nasim Aghdam telling Mountain View Police she had no plans for violence hours before she opened fire at the company's San Bruno headquarters.The police recording shows officers identify Aghdam’s car in a Walmart parking lot in Mountain View at about 1:30 a.m. PT on April 3. Less than 12 hours later, Aghdam would open fire in a courtyard at the YouTube campus, injuring three people before turning the gun on herself. Mountain View Police said the license plate showed Aghdam's vehicle was linked to a San Diego missing persons report filed by her family. The Mountain View Police Department (MVPD) said seven record systems were checked during this time, including the Armed and Prohibited Persons System (APPS). The APPS cross-references records of persons who lawfully purchased weapons with the records of those who are prohibited from owning them. The systems checks for Aghdam came back negative, police said.Two officers knocked on the window and woke up Aghdam, who had been sleeping in the back seat. During their conversation, officers asked Aghdam if she knew her family in San Diego had reported her missing.“We didn’t get along together so I left them,” Aghdam said. She explained that she didn’t get along with her father and drove straight to Mountain View from San Diego. Aghdam also said she went to Northern California to start fresh in a place without memories.Officers asked Aghdam if she was taking medication or needed to take medication. She shook her head, “no."During questioning, Aghdam also told officers that she didn’t want to hurt herself or anyone else, and had no plans to commit suicide.Shortly after the police body camera recording ended, one of the officers called Aghdam’s family in San Diego to report that she had been found. Her father, Ismail Aghdam, answered the phone and confirmed that he had not been getting along with his daughter, police said. He thanked officers for the call and hung up.One hour later, the father called Mountain View Police to let them know his daughter had recently become upset about changes on the YouTube platform that had impacted videos she had created on living a vegan lifestyle, police said. The father suggested that may have been one of the reasons Aghdam was in Mountain View.Scripps station KGTV in San Diego talked with Aghdam’s family at their home in Menifee the evening of April 3. They said that they tried to warn authorities before the shooting.The family said she felt she reached the most people through her YouTube page but her relationship with the company turned ugly when YouTube changed its filters and she began to lose followers and viewers."I Googled 'Mountain View' and it was close to YouTube headquarters, and she had a problem with YouTube," her brother said. "So I called that cop again and told him there’s a reason she went all the way from San Diego to there, so she might do something."Mountain View Police said that during their call, Aghdam’s father did not bring up any concerns about his daughter’s behavior, any potential for violence, or a likelihood that she could be a danger to herself or others.RELATED: Female shooters are rare, YouTube attacker joins short list“A review of the incident revealed that our officers followed proper procedure and protocol. In this case, they checked on the welfare of a person who, at the time, was reported missing but whose actions, demeanor, and answers did not present any information which would cause us to believe she would be a threat to herself or others,” said Chief Max Bosel. Bonsall, Calif.,- Many horses and their owners are returning home to San Luis Rey Training Center, after the Lilac Fire devastated their homes. Chomping away at her breakfast is 6 year-old thoroughbred, Miss Napper Tandy.She is a sweet, race horse, who is also a survivor. “I smelled the smoke, and knew there could be trouble,” owner, Sam Nichols said, while recalling the troubling moments that changed their lives.Last December’s Lilac Fire burned 4,100 acres of North County, destroying 157 structures.One of them was their home— the stables at San Luis Rey Training Center in Bonsall.Miss Napper Tandy managed to get away from the flames, but found herself in a small pen with six other horses.In the chaos, she was badly injured.“She had been kicked pretty bad in the leg,” Nichols said.For a race horse, it was devastating. But thanks to donations and community support, she and dozens of her stable mates found a temporary home at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.“I rehabbed her here, I started working her here,” Nichols said.It worked. In her first race since the fire and her injury, Miss Napper Tandy took first.Adding to her title of “survivor,” she became a first-time “winner.”“It toughened her up, it made her more of a fighter. She’s always been a fighter, but she came through it pretty well,” Nichols said proudly.But five months after the devastation, temporary stables are now being opened up at San Luis Rey.Many riders and their horses are moving back.Miss Napper Tandy’s stay in Del Mar will soon come to a close.“It’s bittersweet going back. It’s been great for us and the horses. Both the COVID-19 pandemic and conversations about race happening now are shining a light on mental health.One in five adults experience mental illness each year. Only one in three Black adults who need mental health care are getting it.The reasons range from socioeconomic disparities, like access to health insurance, to the stigma in the Black community around getting this care.Another issue, the latest numbers from the American Psychological Association show 4% of psychologists in the U.S. are Black.“You know, I think a lot of these guys, they've been going to the same barber since they were 5 years old or maybe only went to a couple of barbers in their whole life and so it's their relationship,” said Lorenzo Lewis, founder of The Confess Project, which trains barbers to become mental health advocates.That training includes learning active listening, positive communication, validation and stigma reduction.Lewis says the barbershop is a good place for this because it's really the only place in the Black community, besides the church, where everyone from all socioeconomic backgrounds come. And they visit more frequently than they would their own doctor.He says he recognized the need for mental health help among black men, but saw it wasn't accessible to them.He is hearing conversations in barbershops change especially now with the issues the Black community is facing.“I think, if nothing else, it is more of a preparation conversation around life success and what in which we know when individuals are successful in life, career, health and their relationships, that they will have a quality mental health,” said Lewis.The mental health training for barbers is being offered in some cities in person, or you can take the virtual course. BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Walmart announced Wednesday that it has revamped its Black Friday plans to help provide a safer and more convenient shopping experience amid the coronavirus pandemic.The retail giant says it will spread out its Black Friday savings from one single day to three different events throughout November to bring customers “Black Friday Deals for Days.”The company says each savings event will begin online at Walmart.com and continue in Walmart stores three days later.Event 1Deals for the first event begin online on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. ET, with new deals in stores starting on Nov. 7 at 5 a.m. local time.
