An alleged sex-trafficking victim was able to escape her captors by jumping out of an 18-wheeler Wednesday night.The Cisco Police Department says around 9 p.m., officers responded to a call of a female who had been seriously injured near the Flying J/Denny's on IH-20.Police say the female injured herself after jumping from an 18-wheeler. She told officers she had been kidnapped in El Paso.It is believed that the perpetrators were going to use the female in sex trafficking operations.The Cisco Fire Department, Cisco EMS and DPS Troopers were also on-scene. The female was transported to a medical facility for treatment of her injuries.The 18-wheeler is described as a green truck tractor with a white stripe and pulling a white box-type trailer. It is occupied by three men.Another female is reportedly still in the truck and maybe in grave danger.A statewide broadcast was issued last night by Cisco PD in an attempt to locate the truck. As of publication, there has been no contact with the truck.Anyone with information is asked to contact local law enforcement at 254-629-1728. Another classic movie from the 1980s is getting a remake.The Hollywood Reporter reports that Zac Efron would star in the remake of "Three Men and a Baby" for Disney+.The 1987 movie that starred Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson, is about three bachelors living together in New York when an infant baby girl arrives at their doorstep.Variety reports that a script for the remake has already been written.Efron will return to Disney after starring in Disney's "High School Musical" series in 2006. 515

As floodwaters started receding in central Texas, authorities discovered the body of a second victim in this week's deluge.The woman's body was found in Llano County, one of the areas inundated by the swollen Llano River, county officials said Wednesday. The woman's name has not been publicly released.On Tuesday, another body was found in the Colorado River in neighboring Burnet County, sheriff's office Capt. Tom Dillard said. Near-record flood levels swamped homes and caused a bridge to collapse.But there's a sliver of good news: While flood warnings are still in effect due to ongoing rain Wednesday, the Llano River's depth has dropped significantly."Right now, the Llano River is at about 12 ? feet, down from just shy of 40 feet yesterday," Llano County Emergency Management Coordinator Ron Anderson said Wednesday. 834

This May, she was planning on retiring.“I decided I was going to let this job open, a job I have loved and benefitted from, and have somebody else have a chance and see what they could do with it,” said Outon.However, a few months before retirement, the pandemic hit the United States and Outon’s plans had to change.“They were not going to be able to re-fill my position because of economic challenges with COVID, so all of a sudden, my desire to open up a position and leaving more work for my co-workers,” Outon added.Outon has now delayed her retirement indefinitely. She’s part of a growing number of Americans doing so because of COVID-19. In fact, the non-profit organization, Life Happens, just conducted a survey that showed 43 percent of adults have either already delayed retirement or are considering it.“It kind of has to do with the uncertainty of what this is going to look like, this pandemic’s effects on long-term and short-term finances, said Fasia Stafford, the president and CEO of Life Happens.“What we also found interesting was that the younger folks were delaying it even more than the older folks, so when you are looking at folks from 18 to 23, they are thinking that this is going to have long-term effects on them, that their retirement age might be delayed because of what is happening currently.”Currently, it doesn’t help with our country’s high level of unemployment, having so many people postpone their retirement. It negates the natural cycle of people exiting the labor market and making room for newer people to enter.“It is important for society,” said Outon. “I think it is healthy for younger people to get their chance and for there to be ability for them to make decisions and be in charge frankly.”If retirement nest eggs keep cracking because of economic recessions hitting almost every decade, those chances are going to be more and more delayed. 2566

Andrea Constand, the key witness in the retrial of Bill Cosby on indecent assault charges, testified Friday morning that she drank wine and took three blue pills at Cosby's urging in January 2004, then lost consciousness and, sometime later, was "jolted awake" to find the entertainer sexually assaulting her."Were you able to verbalize and tell him to stop?" state prosecutor Kristen Feden asked Constand."No," she replied. "I wanted it to stop. I couldn't say anything. I was trying to get my hands to move, my legs to move and the message just wasn't getting there. I was weak, I was limp and I couldn't fight him off.""I was really humiliated. I was in shock. And I was really confused," Constand added.Constand's testimony came on the ninth day of Cosby's retrial on three charges of aggravated indecent assault. He has pleaded not guilty.Leading up to Constand's recollection of the alleged assault, the former Temple University employee traced her relationship with Cosby, whom she said she met while handling operations of the school's women's basketball team. Cosby was an active Temple alumnus.Constand offered brief details of seven social encounters she had with Cosby before the alleged assault, including one in which she said he put his hand on her thigh and another when she said he tried to "unbutton my button on my pants.""I mentioned that I wasn't here for that, and he respectfully stopped and we never talked about it again," Constand said of the latter incident.
