One of them is the popular black ink made by Dynamic Color. The FDA found that two of their lots tested positive for microorganisms. The recall includes all bottles of Scalpaink SC, Scalpaink PA, and Scalpaink AL basic black tattoo inks manufactured by Scalp Aesthetics. One lot of Color Art’s red Solid Ink-Diablo was also included. Tattoo shops across the country were contacted through their local health departments about the recall. One of the largest tattoo parlors in San Diego, SD Tattoo, says they got the email Wednesday morning and immediately searched through their inks.They did have the Dynamic black ink, but tattoo artist Nicki Ninteman said, "We checked all the lot numbers and all of ours are clean, so we’re good."She said they didn't have either of the other two brands in the shop.According to the FDA, people who have been tattooed with contaminated ink can experience rashes or lesions of red papules. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The cost of living in San Diego has become more burdensome over the last year, according to a new report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The bureau says that while prices fell 0.3 percent between May and July of this year, prices for consumer goods have risen 1.4 percent over the last 12 months. The cost of housing is up more than three percent since this time last year while food prices rose by a little more than one percent. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The effort to establish a new independent police commission in the City of San Diego appears to be heading to victory.As of Wednesday afternoon, Measure B was leading with roughly 75% voting yes.There is currently a Community Review Board on Police Practices, but supporters of Measure B said that body is far from independent.“Their legal council is the city attorney, who represents both the Police Officers Association and the CRB so it represents a true conflict of interest,” Maresa Talbert with San Diegans for Justice told ABC 10News back in June.Proponents of the new Commission on Police Practices said they have been waiting for years for this to be a reality.“A lot of people will look at this and think, oh look, it happened overnight. Well, no,” said Martha Sullivan, one of the early members of Women Occupy San Diego. “It took nine years of very persistent [and] consistent, research, education, [and] lobbying.”One of the goals of Women Occupy San Diego ended up being police reform after the Occupy San Diego protests in 2011 and 2012. Sullivan said they submitted complaints to the review board at that time, but many of those complaints were lost.Since then, the push for an independent police commission grew. “This measure is the epitome of strength in numbers. It is the epitome of community support,” said Andrea St. Julian with San Diegans for Justice. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of a teenage woman shot and injured at Sunset Cliffs updated her condition Friday.The unidentified 19-year-old victim was shot twice and left to die on the stairs near the ocean, a GoFundMe account set up by her aunt reported.A person walking near Ladera Street and Sunset Cliffs Blvd. found the woman bleeding the morning of April 12 and called police.
