LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) - A local city councilman is making a desperate plea for tips tonight after his wife was attacked outside their home. It happened just off Palm Street after 5:30 a.m. Saturday. A disturbing picture of the incident was painted in a Facebook post by Lemon Grove City Councilman David Arambula. He writes that his wife was "brutally attacked' while going to the trash can. He adds that the attacker, "opened our gate, then hit her over the hit her over the head with a block of wood. This was completely unprovoked and unexpected."One neighbor described her as traumatized, conscious and suffering a head wound. Deputies say the 38-year-old woman escaped into her home, while the man ran off. The motive remains a big mystery. Neighbors say they've had issues with people wandering the area, high on something."There is a sober living facility a few blocks away. We've had a few incidents of people in their own zone, yelling and screaming - but nothing violent," said neighbor Tim Bossard.Arambula posted on Facebook that his wife is "getting better."The attacker is described as a black man about 30 years old, 5'9", and 175 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt, dark denim shorts, high socks, white shoes, sunglasses and a blue hat. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 888-580-8477. 10news has reached out to Arambula and are waiting to hear back. 1406

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A sixth robbery suspect was taken into custody following an hours-long SWAT standoff in City Heights Friday afternoon. Police arrived to arrest several suspects on the 3600 block of University Avenue around 11 a.m. Several people were detained, but at least one of the suspects refused to surrender, Sgt. Michael Stirk said. RELATED: Check traffic in your areaUniversity Avenue was shut down for several hours in both directions between 36th Street and Cherokee Avenue due to police activity. Just after 5 p.m., a flash bang could be heard going off near the building. Just before 6:30 p.m. Friday, San Diego Police said all the suspects had been "peacefully taken into custody." The department also said it was working to clear its vehicles out of the area. Captain Anthony Dupree confirmed the suspects were being investigated for a string of about 20 robberies throughout the mid-city region, extending into La Mesa and El Cajon as well. Several of the suspects arrested Thursday were thought to be involved in a robbery Thursday night near the SDSU campus, said Dupree.Suspects were peacefully taken into custody and we are currently working on moving our vehicles out of the street to open up traffic. We would like to thank everyone for their patience.— San Diego Police Department (@SanDiegoPD) September 21, 2019 1350

Donald Trump's personal attorney often recorded telephone conversations both before and during the 2016 presidential campaign that likely have been scooped up in the FBI raid on attorney Michael Cohen's apartment, office and hotel room, according to sources familiar with the matter. These recorded conversations, according to one source, were even played back at times to candidate Trump and associates, the source said. Among the recordings were discussions about the campaign and interactions with the media, the source said. This information reveals how extensively the FBI is reviewing Cohen's job as a fixer for Trump as well as his own personal financial entanglements. Some of the recordings may have been on the cellphones or computers that were seized by the FBI during Monday's raid. It's likely to raise concerns among Trump allies that the recordings are under review because of the uncertainty over what was recorded.CNN has also learned that the search warrant sought records relating to Cohen's personal finances and his net worth. One source said Cohen played to Trump and some associates conversations that he had with political and media figures during the exploratory part of the campaign. The source said they were generally conversations about whether the news organizations were going to be fair to candidate Trump. Trump viewed the media relationships as transactional, the source said.Whether Cohen was recording conversations in his Trump Tower office was a source of concern to some Trump associates during the campaign, two former Trump campaign officials said. The Washington Post first reported the concerns Thursday."It's one of the first things people entering Trump world would be told: Don't have conversations in his office. He's recording it," one former campaign official said.As a precaution, some campaign staffers took pains to have conversations with Cohen in the hallway or elsewhere in Trump Tower.Investigators would not immediately have access to any recordings. Anything seized in the raid would first be reviewed by an independent team that would ensure the material was not covered by attorney-client privilege or outside the scope of the warrant.Cohen's attorney Stephen Ryan didn't respond to a call requesting comment. He previously said in a statement that the search was "completely inappropriate and unnecessary." He added that the raid "resulted in the unnecessary seizure of protected attorney client communications between a lawyer and his clients. These government tactics are also wrong because Mr. Cohen has cooperated completely with all government entities, including providing thousands of non-privileged documents to the Congress and sitting for depositions under oath." 2748

DENVER, Colorado — The FBI agent who shot a man at a Denver nightclub when his weapon fell from his waistband while he was performing a backflip is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. Eastern to enter a plea. Chase Bishop, 29, faces one count of second-degree assault, a fourth-degree felony. In July, Bishop's attorney revealed that a plea offer had been made to his client. Denver District Attorney's Office spokesman Ken Lane confirmed the existence of the offer at that time but said the details were not disclosed in court and thus won't be disclosed unless the deal is made. In a new update ahead of Thursday's hearing, Lane says there is no information about any plea deal in the works.Bishop turned himself in on the charge in early June. The shooting happened in the early morning hours of June 2 at the Mile High Spirits club. 919
