SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Next time you head off to your gate to catch your flight, make sure you look over your bin upon leaving the TSA checkpoint.Transportation Security Administration officials say the agency collected 6,030.44 in unclaimed money that passengers left behind at security checkpoints last fiscal year, between Oct. 1, 2018, and Sept. 30, 2019. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Months after one of San Diego’s biggest employers was said to be looking to add up to 1,000 jobs, General Dynamics NASSCO instead announced layoffs.In April, NASSCO held a job fair, claiming the company was looking to add up to 1,000 jobs. Robert Godinez, head of the Boilermakers Union Local 1998, says the shipbuilder didn’t hire close to that number.In total, NASSCO notified nearly 1,500 workers that they could be out of a job in September. The shipbuilder told 10News it expects to let go of closer to 350 workers.The layoffs are in relation to a dry dock accident in July that damaged facilities.One of the company’s employees, Glicerio Cortez, says he doesn’t know exactly what happened in July, but he heard of the damage through coworkers. “They say that they heard like a, something like a bomb, something strong and then the water came all the way to the dry dock,” said Cortez.RELATED: NASSCO delivers layoff notices to 1,500 workersVideo captured by Sky10 shows water flooding the dry dock as debris filled the area. Luckily, no one was injured.The July incident isn’t the only reason for the layoffs. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Neighbors in Ocean Beach and Point Loma are hoping new surveillance video will help arson investigators find whomever is responsible for a series of fires over the weekend. The video was taken from a yard near one of the fires. It shows a man walking in and out of frame then moments later, neighbors say, another fire stared. The fires all happened early Saturday morning within hours and just miles of each other. Arson investigators are calling the fires suspicious , all of them started in people's backyards. San Diego Police tell 10News they're still working to find out if the fires are related and also looking at the surveillance video to find out if the man in the video is a suspect. Detectives ask that anyone else with video, turn it over to the department. 799

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Newly unsealed court documents reveal how investigators were able to identify the suspected Church's Chicken shooter.Albert Lee Blake, 49, was arrested weeks after the shooting erupted inside of the Otay Mesa West restaurant. Blake is accused of shooting three employees and killing Maribel Ibanez. The shooting happened after an argument stemming from Blake allegedly trying to use a fake 0 dollar bill to purchase food. A number of witnesses gave similar descriptions of the man seen shooting inside of the Church's Chicken. Witnesses reported the man coming back into the restaurant after the argument, standing in line, then shooting at employees. They also said he calmly walked away after and got into a blue sedan.RELATED COVERAGE: Court documents reveal details in Church's Chicken murder investigationAccording to search warrant affidavits, surveillance footage from the area revealed the car used by the alleged shooter. Police ran the license plate through their database and found a match. The same vehicle was connected to a stop in September and the driver then was Albert Blake. In the documents the wife, Amy Collins, says the two have been separated for three years, but she allowed him to use the car.She also told investigators that when she asked for the car back, Blake told her she would never get it back and that he would "blow the vehicle up."According to the documents, investigators later went to the girlfriend's apartment in Spring Valley.
