PETERSBURG, Fla. — A long-simmering feud between a pair of Tampa Bay radio personalities is headed to court.A lawsuit was filed Wednesday on behalf of Bubba Clem — better known as "Bubba the Love Sponge" — in Pinellas County. Clem is seeking unspecified damages from his former employer, Cox Media Group, and two of his former employees, Mike "Cowhead" Calta and Matthew "Spice Boy" Lloyd.Calta is the current morning show host on Cox station WHPT and a former coworker of Clem's. Lloyd, is a former Cox employee and a former member of Clem’s crew. The complaint alleges Cox engineered a scheme to that led to Clem’s termination from Beasley Media Group, a competing radio group.“As our complaint alleges, Cox Media has engaged in improper, anti-competitive acts that no major media company should ever employ,” said Clem’s attorney Jeffrey E. Nusinov in a statement. “Cox Media set out to destroy Bubba Clem — not through honest competition, but through dishonest and illegal means.”Clem’s show is currently broadcast on WHBO 1040 AM in Pinellas Park, Florida. Last year the former top-rated shock jock in Tampa Bay reached a settlement with consumer research company Nielsen over a ‘ratings tampering,’ lawsuit.The terms of the settlement between Clem and Nielsen were not disclosed.In Wednesday’s filing, Clem’s lawyers claim Calta and Lloyd played a major role in leaking footage of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan having sex with Clem’s wife to Gawker.Gawker and Hogan settled their lawsuit in November 2016.Hulk Hogan is also suing Calta, Lloyd and Cox Media group over the leak in Pinellas County.Calta had no comment when asked about the lawsuit. 1671

Searchers have found a third body buried by an avalanche at an Idaho ski resort, and they confirmed it is a person who was reported missing on Wednesday. Tuesday's avalanche at the Silver Mountain Resort killed two other people and injured four. Searchers in a helicopter spotted the missing person's body on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office has identified two of the dead as 58-year-old Carl Humphreys of Liberty Lake, Washington, and 46-year-old Scott Parsons of Spokane Valley, Washington. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday failed to meet a subpoena deadline from the House to produce Ukraine-related documents.A House Foreign Affairs Committee aide told CNN that "Secretary Pompeo has failed to meet the deadline to produce documents required by the subpoena. Researchers from the British Psychological Society released a report last week challenging stereotypes on why people are obese. The report states that "obesity is not simply down to an individual’s lack of willpower." The report claims there are a number of circumstances, some of which beyond a person's control, for becoming obese. "The people who are most likely to be an unhealthy weight are those who have a high genetic risk of developing obesity and whose lives are also shaped by work, school and social environments that promote overeating and inactivity," the BPS report says. "People who live in deprived areas often experience high levels of stress, including major life challenges and trauma, often their neighborhoods offer few opportunities and incentives for physical activity and options for accessing affordable healthy food are limited.""Research evidence points strongly to genes being a major part of the explanation for why some people are more susceptible to becoming obese than others," the BPS report continues.The report comes as 40 percent of American adults are considered obese, according to CDC figures.Fat shaming does not workThree weeks ago, late night comedian Bill Maher gave a controversial dialog on obesity, which he admitted was "fat shaming." "Fat shaming doesn’t need to end it needs to make a comeback," he said. Maher added, "Being fat isn’t a birth defect. Nobody comes out of the womb needing to buy two seats on the airplane. In fact, weight stigma perpetuates a cycle of shame and weight gain at all levels of obesity.
