OPA-LOCKA, Fla. (AP) — After 13 years, a South Florida city has overturned a ban on "saggy pants" — bottoms that reveal the wearer's underwear. The Opa-Locka City Commission voted Wednesday on a 4-1 vote to repeal both the original 2007 legislation and a 2013 ordinance that said women, not just men, could receive civil citations for wearing pants that exposed their undergarments. Some commissioners said they felt the ordinance disproportionately affected young, African-American men. Around the city, which is northeast of Miami, signs still warn folks of the ordinance. OCEANSIDE (KGTV) - Three women were injured Sunday evening in a shooting at an Oceanside shopping center, according to Oceanside Police.Police said three Hispanic women were in front of a clothing store in the 3700 block of Mission Boulevard, when three black men suddenly came up to them, shortly after 5 pm. Two of the three suspects shot at the three young women. All the victims suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and went to the hospital. Waitress Angelica Camiro was on her break, treating her nephews to a cup of ice-cream from the shop next door. On their way back, she saw the commotion. "The only thing was, 'Save the kids!' because I don't know what was happening," Camiro said. She immediately ran back into the restaurant and told all the customers to get to the back of the store. OROVILLE, Calif. (AP) — A 72-year-old man found dead in a vehicle and two other people discovered on a roadway were among the latest victims of the deadliest wildfire in California this year. The Butte County sheriff's office said DNA testing was used to positively identify 10 of 15 people killed last week in the North Complex fire burning northeast of San Francisco. The victims included three people whose bodies were found in or near a burned vehicle. Gov. Gavin Newsom said more than 17,000 firefighters are battling some 25 major fires that were sparked in the past month. The death toll stands at 25 with more than 38,000 people under evacuation statewide. 672

OTAY MESA, Calif (KGTV) - A peace gathering was held Saturday night for the family of Maribel Ibanez, the woman shot and killed at an Otay Mesa Church's Chicken.About 100 people lent support at the gathering, telling Maribel's mother, Emma Carla Merino, she wasn't alone.Maribel Ibanez and two male employees were shot Nov. 6 by a man who has yet to be found. The two male victims survived.At Saturday's gathering, a mural was painted of a flying candle with the name Maribel in script underneath. People spoke of love conquering violence. Musicians played, flowers and candles were passed out, and there were prayers."I feel hurt but I feel peace because she is already resting," Merino said.
