The former police officer who knelt on the neck of George Floyd prior to Floyd's death in May has been released on bail, according to WCCO-TV and The Washington Post.Bail in his case had been set at .25 million, or million with conditions, according to WCCO. NBC News reports that Chauvin's release was conditional.Chauvin has been charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and manslaughter in connection with Floyd's death.Three other former police officers — J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao — face charges of aiding and abetting murder and manslaughter.Floyd's death sparked nationwide protests against systemic racism and police brutality across the country throughout the summer.Ben Crump, a civil rights attorney who has been working with the Floyd statement, decried Chauvin's release. ”Derek Chauvin’s release on bond is a painful reminder to George Floyd’s family that we are still far from achieving justice for George," Crump said in a statement. "The system of due process worked for Chauvin and afforded him his freedom while he awaits trial. In contrast, George Floyd was denied due process, when his life was ended over a bill. There was no charge, no arrest, no hearing, no bail. Just execution. Although George Floyd was denied justice in life, we will not rest until he is afforded full justice in death. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is embarking on a rebranding effort of sorts.The church, commonly referred to as the Mormons, really wants people to stop using that word. It also wants people to stop using LDS as an abbreviation. From now on, it prefers that people use the church's full name, and when a shortened reference is needed, to just use "the Church" or "Church of Jesus Christ."These preferences are contained in a new style guide that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released Thursday. It states that while "the term 'Mormon Church' has long been publicly applied to the Church as a nickname, it is not an authorized title, and the Church discourages its use." It also asks that the term "Mormons" not be used in references to members.Also out: the word "Mormonism," which the style guide states is an "inaccurate" word to use to describe the "doctrine, culture and lifestyle unique to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." But the word Mormon is fine to use in proper names, like the Book of Mormon, or in historical expressions like the Mormon Trail. 1126

According to reports, the agency was working to move it up to Friday evening.Friday morning, President Donald Trump lashed out at the Food and Drug Administration and its commissioner, Dr. Stephen Hahn, for not moving faster. Trump tweeted the FDA “is still a big, old, slow turtle. Get the dam vaccines out NOW, Dr. Hahn @SteveFDA. Stop playing games and start saving lives!!!” 939

They then allegedly strangled Marlen, before taking the baby from her womb.The Figueroas face first-degree murder charges.Ochoa says he is frustrated because COVID-19 has forced the courts to reschedule the hearings over and over.The National District Attorneys Association says there are backlogs of criminal cases in every state, and daily court dockets have fewer cases because of the social-distancing restrictions. The Cambridge Analytica?scandal has thrust Facebook privacy settings into the national conversation after the political firm used the personal data of about 50 million people without their consent.Now, Mozilla is helping Firefox users keep their Facebook data secure so they won't be exploited in the future.The company has introduced a Firefox extension that it says will make it much harder for Facebook to track which websites you browse.Facebook has developed a network of trackers that tell the social media site which of its users are visiting certain webpages, like online retailers. Facebook will then use that information to serve its users ads based on what products they've been viewing.Mozilla says its Facebook Container extension will make it much more difficult to track which websites you visit, and keep your browsing information private.Mozilla admits the extension isn't perfect. In a blog post, the company said that the extension would not have prevented user information from being abused in the Cambridge Analytica scandal. It also says that Facebook Container would not work well on sites which require you to use Facebook information to log in.But Mozilla says the simple step of downloading the extension is giving power back to internet users. "Troves of data are being collected on your behavior on the internet, and so giving users a choice to limit what they share in a way that is under their control is important," the company wrote.To download Facebook container, first download the free Mozilla Firefox browser if you're not already using it.
