SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are looking for two suspects witnesses say were part of a brutal attack where a man beat another man to the ground and hit him in the head with a sledgehammer.Robert Kern was driving on his way to run errands around 2:45 p.m. when he saw a man with long blonde hair pulled into a ponytail, wearing a black shirt and jeans, start attacking another man.He said the men were in the middle of the intersection of the Westbound 94 on-ramp at Kelton Road. Kern said the man punched and kicked the other man to the ground, then used a sledgehammer, hitting the man's head.Kern said a good Samaritan stepped in and broke up the fight, that's when Kern snapped a couple photos for police and called 9-1-1.The man who was attacked was taken to a local hospital. Inside the ambulance the man was writhing in pain. Police said he was drunk and will be released Sunday night.Kern said the area is well known for homelessness and it's sad to see violence like that.Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the two people in the picture, if you have any information you can call anonymously at (888) 580-8477. 1172

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Gas & Electric has warned about 2,700 customers in several East County communities of potential public safety power shutoffs starting Friday morning.The utility company said outages may occur due to a red flag warning issued by the National Weather Service and the need to reduce wildfire risk in the areas. "Public Safety Power Shutoffs are a last resort to prevent wildfires, and our employees are dedicated to doing everything we can to minimize impacts should it come to that. We’re hoping Mother Nature cooperates, but in an abundance of caution we have reached out to our customers so they can be prepared."SDG&E says several hundred linemen, troubleshooters, and support personnel will be working on Thanksgiving Day and through the holiday weekend to monitor the grid.The red flag warning will be in effect from 9 p.m. Thursday through 9 a.m. Saturday for San Diego County's inland valleys and mountains. Moderate strength Santa Ana winds are expected in areas of the backcountry. More than 50 years later, the Fornacas went into the car business.The family still runs Frank Toyota, Subaru, and Hyundai. The dealerships are known for their catchy phrase, "Is that you, Frank?"Fornaca suffered from congestive heart failure. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Residents in an Allied Gardens neighborhood say they woke up to guns drawn and shouts from FBI agents."I literally have goosebumps right now. It's sad," said Shiva Eftekhari.Around 6 a.m., agents executed a search warrant at a home in the 7100 block of Glenroy Street.  Throughout the morning and into the afternoon, agents collected bags and bags of evidence, including a computer. It also has a staggering number of veterans who don’t have a place to liveAnd, even more alarming is the number every year who take their own lives.As ABC 10News Anchor, Kimberly Hunt explains…a non-profit in San Diego lead by, and staffed by, veterans is looking to change that.There are an estimated 1,100 homeless vets on the streets of San Diego. Statistically they commit suicide at a rate of 1.5 times higher than the general population.Kyle Drake is president of Cammies and Canines Sanctuary… a veteran owned, faith bases non-profit helping veterans by providing, among other things transitional housing, structure, and therapy.On this sprawling ranch in Dulzura, they’re given an opportunity.But Cammies and Canines Sanctuary under the importance of companionship. It pairs each veteran with a rescue dog which has been schooled by their master trainers as a service animal.Kyle’s construction company builds tiny homes on the property for each vet to have a sense of place. Tony’s pest control company, Mosquito Joes trains interested veterans to work in the pest control industry, and everyone is given a sense of responsibility and respect.
