LITCHFIELD PARK, Arizona — Officials from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office say an 11-year-old boy shot and killed his grandmother then turned the gun on himself in Litchfield Park on Saturday evening. According to MCSO, just after 5 p.m., deputies received a call from a man near Litchfield Road and Wigwam Boulevard who reported that his grandson had shot and killed his wife, 65-year-old Yvonne Woodard and then shot and killed himself.The grandfather told deputies that he and his wife had full custody of their grandson. The couple reportedly asked the grandson to clean his room and pick up after himself throughout the day as he was "being stubborn about it."Officials say the two then sat down on their couch in the living room to watch television. The grandson then reportedly came up behind them and shot Yvonne in the back of the head with a gun that belonged to the grandfather. The grandfather then ran after the grandson but quickly returned to render aid to his wife. Moments later he reported that the grandson had then shot himself.At that point, the grandfather retrieved the gun and called 9-1-1. "In the preliminary stages of this investigation there had been no previous signs that the grandson might harm someone or himself and there was no cause for concern prior to this event," MCSO said in a news release. The investigation remains ongoing at this time. 1425

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A Lee County, Florida woman is fed up with her delivered packages being roughed up.Nora Martin has discovered her stuff in some weird places. "They've ended up all over the front of my house," Martin said. "Even in the flower bed."Martin and her husband set up a surveillance camera to see how their postal carrier delivered packages.They couldn't believe their eyes as they watched their son's box tossed from the delivery car's window with zero care.  "10 feet from my door, and the best she could do was hurl my package out the window," Martin said.Martin said she was upset because her son was the one who ordered collectibles. She was the one who saw his disappointment when he saw the damaged box."He works very hard for his money. Law enforcement officials from New York to Florida are examining clues to find the person or persons who sent 10 packages containing what appear to be explosive materials to prominent Democrats, critics of President Donald Trump, and to CNN's New York offices as authorities classify the incidents as domestic terrorism.Three new packages were detected Thursday -- two intended for former Vice President Joe Biden and one for actor-director Robert DeNiro -- each bearing the same markings as the seven packages detected earlier this week. And authorities now believe several of the packages went through the Opa-locka, Florida, processing and distribution center, according to two law enforcement officials familiar with the investigation.The devices mark one of the most serious attempts to stoke fear and terror in the US in a period that has already seen a number of violent political attacks. The apparent bombs, while rudimentary in design, according to law enforcement officials, targeted two former US presidents, a former vice president and potential presidential contender, and numerous outspoken critics of the Trump administration.Investigators are reviewing security footage from the CNN building and examining the packages themselves for potential clues, according to current and former law enforcement officials."Everything is a clue," a law enforcement official said.As authorities examine clues, they are also finding more questions to answer.One key question authorities are puzzling over is why none of the apparent bombs detonated, a second law enforcement source said, raising questions about the skill and motive of the bombmaker.This person said either the bombmaker was good enough to ensure none would go off and never intended them to explode or it was poorly constructed. That classification is based on the absence of other information and could change.The Secret Service, US Postal Inspector Service, and ATF are also working on the investigation with various state and federal offices.
