An Arizona family is celebrating a major milestone. Baby Henley was born with a congenital heart defect or a hole in her heart. Weighing in at only 4 pounds and 7 ounces, there was a lot of concern about her health because she just would not eat."Because of the hole in her heart, she just could not eat, it was too difficult for her, so she struggled a lot to gain weight," said Megan Beebe, Henley's mother.So, from the age of 5 months old, Henley has relied on a feeding tube to get all of her nutrition."At one point, it was giving her 100% of her nutrition. We would put all of her formula, breast milk through the feeding tube," said Beebe.In her two years since she was born, Henley has had hundreds of doctor's appointments and five surgeries. She has also been working with a feeding therapist based out of the United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona. Henley does not have cerebral palsy, but her mother tells KNXV they really liked the specialized therapist they have been working with, so they have stuck with the organization."We just had to keep working our way up, until one day she ate an entire Cheeto Puff all by herself," said Beebe.That one Cheeto Puff was a big milestone for Henley."It took her about 10 full minutes to eat one Cheeto Puff but she ate the whole Cheeto Puff all by herself, did not throw up," said Beebe, talking about the relief they felt. They were finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel of Henley's tough road to being able to eat without the aid of a feeding tube.After 27 months, Henley's feeding tube was finally removed. It was a big moment for Beebe. She tells KNXV she sometimes could not help but feel like a failure as a mother."Our number one job is to feed her and keep her alive, and we couldn't do that," said Beebe."The day we finally got to take her feeding tube out, it was like, it was just a miracle. Amid the political gridlock in Washington, it’s one of the rare instances of a bill getting marshaled forward in a bipartisan fashion.It’s called “The Crisis Stabilization and Community Reentry Act of 2020,” which recently passed the U.S. Senate. At its core, it would help provide mental health services for people in the criminal justice system who don’t usually get it.“It tries to deal with a fundamental problem we have in this country, that too many people with mental illness end up in jails and prisons,” said Chuck Ingoglia, CEO of the National Council for Behavioral Health. “I've had the opportunity to go around the country and to talk to local sheriffs and they understand that people with mental illness don't belong in their facilities, don’t do well in their facilities.”In fact, from 2006 to 2016, in jails around the country, suicide was the leading single cause of death. Yet, the problem goes beyond prison walls.It can be a lonely road for inmates after they have served their time and are released back into the community. Part of what the bill hopes to address is what happens with their mental health since many of them report they don’t have health insurance to get their needed medication.About 80 percent of inmates released lack health insurance, and those that do have it, often wait an average of 48 days to get an appointment at a behavioral clinic.To fill in that gap, among other things, the bill would allocate million a year for five years towards programs that strengthen the link between law enforcement and community mental health providers.“Unfortunately, in many places, there is no alternative,” Ingoglia said. “This bill, these new grant programs that it's seeking to create, would try to give more options to communities.”It’s a bill whose future now lies in the hands of the U.S. House of Representatives. 1861

An 11-year-old boy died after he fell into a volcanic crater in Italy and his parents also died when they tried to help him, police said.The incident happened Tuesday at the Solfatara Crater in Pozzuoli, a popular tourist attraction near Naples.Naples police told CNN the family of four was visiting from Turin, and the 11-year-old boy wandered into an area that is off-limits to visitors. 397

An FBI agent was shot in Brooklyn on Saturday, according to a tweet from the bureau's office in New York.The agent was taken to a local hospital, the tweet said, but the FBI did not provide additional details.Detective Sophia Mason of the New York Police Department confirmed to CNN that an FBI agent was shot, but she wouldn't provide information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or the condition of the officer. Mason deferred CNN's questions to the FBI.The Fire Department of New York responded to a report of "gunshot wounds" in Brooklyn on Saturday, according to Michael Parrella, an FDNY spokesman.
