(KGTV) — A San Diego woman’s mother who disappeared in Zion National Park nearly two weeks ago has been found alive, according to her family.Holly Courtier, 38, was last seen entering the Utah park on Oct. 6, before she was reported missing by her family.The National Park Service said search and rescue teams located Courtier on Sunday after receiving, "a credible tip from a park visitor that they had seen Courtier within the park."RELATED: San Diego woman’s mother missing in Zion National Park 506

(KGTV) — A firefighter battling the CZU Lightning Complex Fire in Northern California had his wallet stolen out of his vehicle and bank account drained, officials say.According to Cal Fire, the firefighter was on the ground directing crews when someone entered his department vehicle and stole his personal belongings, including his wallet. Officials say the firefighter's bank account was later drained."That's the extent that these people have gone, again, this is why we've asked for people to evacuate. It's saddening, it's sickening, and we're doing everything we can to try and help the community and unfortunately, this happened," Cal Fire Chief Mark Brunton said.The fire, which has burned 74,000 acres in San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties, is only 8% contained Sunday night. One person has died in the blaze.Officials on Sunday morning urged residents still in the evacuation zone to leave the area if they hadn't already, in part to keep crews focused on fighting the fire, saving homes, and deterring criminal behavior.About 1,300 personnel have been responding to the devastating fire, as it threatens 24,000 structures. At least 115 structures have been destroyed and 77,000 people have been evacuated from the area.On Friday, Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department said five people were arrested and charged with looting, grand theft, burglary, and conspiracy to commit a crime in the area.Cal Fire warned Sunday that there was also a fraudulent GoFundMe account circulating that claimed to be raising money for the firefighter whose belongings were stolen. "It's absolutely disgusting behavior. Frankly, I can't believe that somebody would have the nerve to break into a firefighter's vehicle, or enter their vehicle, to steal something from them when they're there to protect the community," said Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Chris Clark. 1885

(KGTV) — For Chula Vista native Cesar Moreno, instinct — and training — kicked in when a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Anchorage, Alaska, Friday."I went straight under my desk and I was just praying," Moreno recalled. "I was afraid I was going to die."Moreno said training for earthquakes while living in San Diego as a child helped prepare him for what to do. (KGTV) - Caltrans announced freeway closures on I-5, I-15 and SR-163 to do road work this month.SR-163State Route 163 will have closures in Mission Valley starting Monday night. Residents and businesses may hear jackhammering and truck back-up alarms.All lanes of north 163 will be closed between I-8 and Genessee Avenue Monday, Tuesday and possibly Wednesday nights 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.The Genessee on-ramp to north 163 will remain open. Other drivers will be detoured to I-8 and I-805. INTERSTATE 15I-15 will be closed at SR-76 in Escondido during daytime hours Tuesday. The north I-15 connector will be shut down from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for road maintenance.Signs will be posted directing motorists on northbound I-15 to exit at Mission Road/Old 395, then turn left to southbound I-15 to access SR-76. INTERSTATE 5Starting Sunday night and going until May 30, construction crews will close either northbound or southbound lanes of I-5 overnight to begin construction of the Mid-Coast Trolley.Drivers will see heavy equipment and machinery on the freeway, and residents can expect to hear loud construction noise during the closures.The project will start with a large support column for the trolley bridge in the freeway center divider.The trolley is being built to extend the Blue Line eleven miles north from the Old Town Transit Center to University City, running through Mission Bay Park, the VA Medical Center, UC San Diego and Westfield University Town Center Mall.The Mid-Coast Trolley is expected to start running in fall 2021.Closure Details:Northbound I-5 will be closed from State Route 52 to La Jolla Village Drive: 1664

(KGTV) - A group of Massachusetts police officers and firefighters are being hailed as heroes after coming to the aid of a choking puppy this week.North Reading resident Megan Vitale stormed into a police station Sunday telling officers her 9-week-old Saint Bernard puppy, Bodhi, was choking on food. An acquaintance came running in with Bodhi shortly after, the puppy limp and unresponsive in his arms, surveillance footage from the station showed.A group of officers came running out to begin administering first aid to the puppy. A group of North Reading firefighters also arrived at the station to help with back blows and chest compressions. After 10 minutes, the food blockage was finally dislodged and Bodhi was revived."Ultimately, a life was saved thanks to rescuers falling back on their training and remaining calm. Even though we are not faced with this kind of incident every day, the officers reacted just as they would in any emergency situation," North Reading Police Chief Murphy said. “We are hopeful that the puppy will make a full recovery."Firefighters used a special oxygen tank designed for pets to help Bodhi get breathing again."Many of our firefighters have pets at home in their own families. We do not get to choose the emergency situation that comes our way, so it is important that first responders be prepared for anything," Fire Chief Stats said.Bodhi was able to leave with Vitale to receive follow-up care from a veterinarian, according to the police department. 1534
