A 24-year-old man was tricked into giving up his personal possessions late Saturday night in Detroit.Police say he was in the area of Cadillac Square and Randolph Street approached by two men who identified themselves as police officers, despite not showing badges or ID cards. No jurisdiction was claimed.The suspects reportedly acted as if they were talking on the radio, and one of them stated he was part of a "sting," asking the victim to surrender his cash, cell phone and credit cards.The victim said he had just smoked narcotics. Believing he was under investigation, he turned over his property to the suspects.According to police, the suspects took cash, credit cards and his iPhone 5. The first suspect is described as a black man, five feet ten inches tall, with a full beard, wearing a gray Tiger hoodie with black jeans. (KGTV) - The California Department of Vehicles is reaching out to state residents to make sure they have a valid REAL ID ahead of the 2020 federal deadline. REAL ID cardholders who presented only one residency document when they applied must confirm their address by mail, DMV officials say. The DMV sent 3.6 million letters to cardholders, asking them to verify their mailing address and return the letter to the agency. Anyone who lost or did not receive a letter by Aug. 15 can request one through an online form, DMV officials say. Starting Oct. 1, 2020, all travelers must present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or other TSA-approved identification, such as a passport or military ID, to fly within the United States. 736
A 53-foot trailer containing nearly 0,000 worth of ramen noodles that was in a Chevron store lot in Georgia has disappeared.WAGA-TV in Atlanta reports the trailer was secure when it was in the lot and that it went missing between July 25-Aug. 1.The theft is being investigated by officials in Fayette County, Georgia who say it is part of a string of thefts.
