(KGTV) A witness is disputing the claim that a July 4th incident in an El Cajon neighborhood was a racially motivated attack.On Lima Court on the night of July 4th, families were getting set to view a nearby fireworks show. Scott, who was visiting family, says that for hours, neighbors had been dealing with drivers speeding through the area."Bunch of people telling were telling the cars that were passing through. It happened dozens of times ... to slow down," said Scott.Just before 9, an SUV drove into the neighborhood. Scott says it was also speeding. The woman in the passenger seat, Alana Christman, says they were driving slowly. The man at the wheel was her fiance, William Gavin. Their two young children were in the back."I was looking down at the GPS and we heard, 'You can't come in our neighborhood,'" Christman told 10news in an interview Monday.She says at that moment, a man threw a lit cigarette, which landed on her blouse, the ashes filling up the vehicle. Surveillance video obtained by 10news shows Gavin was outside the vehicle moments later.While Gavin says the man he believed tossed the cigarette, took the first swing, Scott says he saw Gavin swing first."Hit him, threw him to the ground, then kicked him in the chest," said Scott.In the video, a group of people are seen following Gavin to the SUV. Christman calls the group a 'mob,' attacking the SUV and ripping the door off its hinge. Scott says the group was just trying to prevent the man from leaving the scene."Everyone tried to get him to stop for a second. The door was damaged in the process of car trying to pull off and speed off, and ended up hitting a lady in the process," said Scott.Police say a woman suffered minor injuries. The family says they pulled around the corner to get to safety and called police. They told 10news they felt the incident was racially motivated. Scott believes the spark was the speeding cars."People of all races were yelled at that night. It was preventing people from being jerks. It wasn't anything to do with race. It was trying to keep safety for the kids," said Scott.Police say there is "no indication the incident was racially motivated." A spokesperson says the investigation is ongoing and they're looking into the alleged cigarette tossing and a possible hit-and-run case. Would you go as often if you heard about collisions and damage happening inside?Mark Crotty of Arizona took his new car through a Super Star Car Wash. He says while in the wash, a car two cars ahead somehow came off the rollers. Crotty said the truck in front of him stopped, which caused his car to be sandwiched with the truck and a big SUV from behind. He said that SUV pushed him about 15 feet through the rest of the wash. Crotty says Super Star Car Wash took no responsibility for the damage caused. He ended up paying hundreds to repair damage to his bumpers.Jennifer Chahoud also had damage to her new car. She also said it happened inside a Super Star Car Wash.Chahoud says cars suddenly stopped in front of her and her car was hit. She said for weeks, Super Star claimed they were not responsible.Chahoud said only after complaining to the Better Business Bureau that they paid for repairs to her car.Jake Morrissey says it happened to him too.He said his car was in neutral and his hands were off the steering wheel as all drivers are asked to do. Then his car collided with a car in front and back of him.He said Super Star claimed no responsibility and said it was not their equipment. Instead, he says the car wash blamed another driver.Morrissey said Super Star gave him the driver's name and location and told him to take it up with her. He approached her, but said she denied knowing anything about it and threatened to call the police. He sued, and Super Star blamed this other driver.Morrissey lost and still hasn't had his damage repaired, and he now questions why cars are put on the conveyor belt so closely.Morrissey added he wonders why there aren't sensors that immediately stop the line when there's an issue.JR Ruelas of Super Star Car Wash said these collisions are very rare. He said when they happen, they are usually the fault of the driver.Ruelas said drivers put on their brakes or move the steering wheel taking them off the track.He says in the above cases, the car wash equipment was not the problem.He defended the practice of giving drivers information of other drivers to seek reimbursement.He said Super Star does take responsibility when they are at fault, but couldn't give exact numbers.Ruelas said there are sensors on the conveyor line, but they are not in the middle, where many of these collisions happen.Crotty, Chahoud and Morrissey all said their damage was not their fault, and ask how could it be when they have no control over their car's movement? During the coronavirus pandemic, airlines scaled back on serving in-flight food and drink service to avoid the virus's spread by contact.Well, United Airlines seems to be wading back into the water with news of it slowly bring back food and alcohol.According to USA Today, the airliner will begin test running the sale of food, beer, and wine to economy passengers on select flights from its hub in Denver, Colorado, starting Nov. 17.The test run would also include travelers on flights from Denver to eight destinations: Boston; Chicago; Honolulu; Houston; Los Angeles; Newark, New Jersey; San Francisco; and Washington, D.C., USA Today reported.On their "safety updates to inflight dining" page, United stated that passengers in economy traveling domestically on flights over 2 hours and 20 minutes would receive a complimentary snack bag that'll include two snacks, a small bottle of water, and a sanitizer wipe.If traveling in first-class from Boston, Chicago O'Hare, Cleveland, Denver, Houston Intercontinental, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, and Honolulu to San Francisco and Los Angeles, you can select either a cold sandwich or a snack box.Snacks for flights under 2 hours and 20 minutes would not receive snacks in economy, the airliner said, but you can bring your snacks on board.If traveling domestically in first class, and the flight is between 1 hour and 2 hours and 20 minutes, passengers would receive a complimentary snack bag that'll include two snacks, a small bottle of water, and a sanitizer wipe.For drinks, United said passengers would receive complimentary soft drinks, coffee, and tea. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - El Cajon Police released a surveillance photo Friday in an effort to find the driver responsible for a deadly hit-and-run crash. Investigators said a newer silver four-door sedan ran down the unidentified victim in the intersection of East Chase and Lincoln Ave. about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6. A witness started CPR on the 58-year-old man but he died of his injuries after he was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital. During a hearing with the House Oversight Committee, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy admitted he was not aware of the different prices of sending mail through the postal service.Representative Katie Porter asked DeJoy if he knew the price of a first-class stamp.
