SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Residents in a senior mobile home park in Oceanside are worried about speeding drivers after two ducks were hit and killed Wednesday. Neighbors told 10News a mom, dad and baby duck were crossing the road around 5 a.m. when a newspaper delivery driver ran them over.Several residents reported that the driver responsible delivers the San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper and regularly speeds on their narrow roads.The UT told 10News their carriers are employed by a separate company but issued the following statement: "We have learned that a carrier from an independent distributor, who delivers The San Diego Union-Tribune, may have been involved in an auto collision involving a family of ducks. Safety is a priority for us and we support safe and respectful work practices among the vendors with whom we do business. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police arrested a man on suspicion of killing the owner of an East Village flooring business, but a female suspect remains at large, detectives said Thursday.Kevin Eugene Cartwright, 51, was arrested in El Cajon Tuesday. No motive was released.??????10News spoke to Venus, who told us she was Ghedeer "Tony" Radda's cousin. Ten years his junior, she said she always looked up to Radda as a "cool older brother," who taught her everything from pop culture to how to grow up. She said the tragedy was so numbing, she still cannot accept it as reality. "I wake up everyone morning thinking, is this still a dream? Am I ever going to wake up from this nightmare?" Venus asked.Officers believe Kevin Cartwright and an unidentified woman killed Radda at Bottom Price Flooring on G Steet, October 10. Radda suffered trauma to his upper body and died at the scene."I can't imagine him thinking, am I going to go now? Do I call my kids? Do I call my wife? At the end of the day, I just want him to tell us, why?" Venus said.For more than a week, investigators looked for two disguised suspects caught on Radda's newly-installed surveillance cameras. They captured a person in a Granny Mask and a woman with a purple wig.San Diego Police said Wednesday evening they arrested the man they believed was behind the Granny Mask-- Kevin Eugene Cartwright."Today did give us a little bit of peace, not that it will bring him back, but just to know that there is a little bit of closure, that one person has been caught," Venus said. 10News went to Cartwright's last known address in El Cajon. A man answered the door but provided no comment. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Crime Stoppers released photos of a suspect and offered a reward Thursday for tips about an assault in the Midway area. A man parked his vehicle along the side of the Arby’s at 3777 Midway Drive April 6 about 7 p.m., inadvertently cutting off another driver. The man went inside the restaurant and got into an argument with the driver. During the fight, the driver punched the victim in the head eight times, police said. The victim fell to the ground and the driver stomped on his head with his feet, according to investigators. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for an orbital fracture. The suspect drove away from the area, police said. He is described as white, about 30 years old, with a muscular build. The sides and back of his head are shaved, according to officers. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police have identified the man shot and killed by a Border Patrol agent following a confrontation Friday.According to police, David Angel Villalobos-Baldovinos, 30, was shot by an agent after entering the US illegally.Police say Villalobos-Baldovinos, a Mexican National, tried to enter the US illegally and was confronted by an agent just before 6 p.m. October 23 in San Ysidro.Villalobos-Baldovinos reportedly fought with the agent, who police say received minor injuries during the scuffle. The agent then fired his weapon, hitting the suspect one time in the torso, police say. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer and community leaders broke ground Tuesday on a Mission Bay park makeover in honor of a woman who died serving her community. Maruta Gardner was struck and killed by a DUI driver in 2016 while she was removing graffiti. The park in Bonita Cove is being named in her honor and receive a “much-needed makeover” for the playground, city officials say.
