The Seattle Seahawks postponed a workout with free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick after Kaepernick declined to stop kneeling during the national anthem, ESPN reports.According to ESPN, the Seahawks contacted the former 49ers quarterback two weeks ago to arrange a workout. However, the meeting was canceled at the last minute over the constroversial protest.Kaepernick began kneeling for the national anthem during the 2016 preseason, saying he was hoping to bring attention to police brutality. He continued his protest through the 2016 season, and his contract with the 49ers was not extended following the season.Kaepernick has not played since the 2016, though he is still a free agent and can be signed by any team. In October, Kaepernick filed a grievance against the NFL alleging the owners colluded to blackball him from the league. He was deposed by the league in connection with his complaint earlier this week.Kaepernick's former teammate and fellow free agent Eric Reid was also reportedly asked by Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown about kneeling during the anthem during a workout with the team. The ratings for Anderson Cooper's exclusive interview with Stormy Daniels won't be available until Monday afternoon.But the outpouring of reactions suggest that her account of an alleged affair with Donald Trump in 2006 captivated viewers across the country.Several hours after the interview was broadcast, Daniels' name was still the No. 1 trending topic in the U.S. on Twitter. The adult film star was also a trending topic on Facebook.The sexual encounter allegedly happened a decade before Trump was elected president. But the apparent cover-up is much more recent."For us, it wasn't so much 'there was an affair.' That's not as much the headline. For us, it's everything that has happened since and how we've gotten to this point," Cooper said in an interview for CBSNews.com about his sit-down with Daniels."I think there's more to come on this story. I'm not saying necessarily on Stormy Daniels' aspect of the story, but on the methods that were used to keep her silent," Cooper told CBSNews.com. "If Stormy Daniels' story is true that a thug came up to her in a parking lot in Las Vegas in 2011 -- this is long before Donald Trump was a presidential candidate -- I mean, if somebody is using intimidation tactics, physical intimidation tactics, it's probably not the first time they've done it. So that's a potential story I would imagine people would look at: Has this kind of thing happened before? According to Johns Hopkins, at least 2,500 people have died of COVID-19 in the last three days.Thursday also marked a new record in daily reported cases of the coronavirus and the third day in the last week that the U.S. had reported more than 200,000 cases.Finally, Thursday marked an entire month (from Nov. 3 to Dec. 3) of at least 100,000 new cases of COVID-19 each day. Between Oct. 30 and today, more than 5 million Americans have contracted COVID-19 — a figure that represents 36 percent of all cases that have been recorded since the pandemic began.And as dire as the situation is today, health experts only expect the virus to spread further in the coming days.
