As coronavirus cases reached a new high on Friday in the US, Dr. Anthony Fauci now believes a mask mandate is necessary to stop the spread of the virus.But Dr. Fauci acknowledges enforcing a mask mandate is a challenge. Adding to the challenge, officials in recent days say that family gatherings are becoming a significant reason why cases are growing throughout the US.“I think that would be a great idea to have everybody do it uniformly,” Fauci said in an interview on CNN on Friday. “And one of the issues though, I get the argument say, 'Well, if you mandate a mask, then you're going to have to enforce it and that'll create more of a problem.' Well, if people are not wearing masks, then maybe we should be mandating it."The University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation projects that near universal mask wearing outside of the household would save anywhere from 60,000 to 160,000 lives in the US between now and February 1.While many public institutions, such as grocery stores, restaurants, and other facilities have implemented mask and social distancing policies to help slow the virus, public health officials say smaller, more interment gatherings, are where many are letting their guard down.With colder weather setting in and major holidays upcoming, public health officials are becoming increasingly concerned as cases increase throughout much of the US.“Smaller more intimate gatherings of family, friends and neighbors may be driving infection as well especially as these gatherings move indoors and adherence to face coverings and social distancing may not be optimal,” said Dr. Jay Butler, deputy director of infectious diseases at the CDC. “I recognize that we are all getting tired of the impact that COVID-19 has had on our lives. As cases of COVID-19 surge among members of FC Dallas, the MLS announced that it has postponed the team’s match against the Vancouver Whitecaps scheduled for Wednesday.Six players from FC Dallas in the last week have tested positive for COVID-19.The MLS is resuming play this week in Orlando, Florida as part of a tournament after the league shutdown in mid-March, less than two weeks into the 2020 season.. The entire league is staying in Orlando, and will play all matches at the Wide World of Sports complex.Four of the positive tests have cone since the team has arrived in Orlando, prompting concerns that the virus could spread within the protective bubble the league has established.All FC Dallas players are quarantining themselves in their hotel rooms.The match has now been pushed back to July 15.“In consultation with MLS medical officials, FC Dallas took proactive steps to isolate the newly-affected players as well as all FC Dallas players and staff in Orlando out of an abundance of caution. An Ohio couple was stunned to find a Nazi symbol on a pizza they picked up from Little Caesars Pizza Saturday night.Jason Laska was running an errand for his wife and picked up a pizza from the Little Caesars in Brook Park.“I walked in. Andrew Drechsel, who was crowned champion of "American Ninja Warrior" last year, was arrested and federally charged "with seeking sex with a minor and inducing her to send him sexual explicit images," U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Craig Carpenito said in a statement."Drechsel, 31, of Saint Cloud, Florida, was charged with the manufacture of child pornography, enticement of a minor to travel for illicit sexual conduct, traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor, and use of interstate commerce to entice a minor," Carpenito said in the news release. "He (Drechsel) made his initial appearance today (Wednesday) in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, prior to his transfer to the District of New Jersey."According to the court documents, Drechsel, and the alleged victim first met in 2014 at an event attended by numerous "American Ninja Warriors" contestants.In 2015, Drechsel and the alleged victim, then 15, first had sex at his Hamden, Connecticut gym, the court affidavit stated.The affidavit says the teen told her mother, who then confronted Drechsel. The mother said when told Drechsel that the alleged victim had just turned 15, he didn't deny having sex but stated he did not know her daughter's age, the affidavit said.In June 2019, the alleged victim, who was 19, made a complaint to the Cherry Hill Police Department in New Jersey, stating that she and Drechsel had sexual encounters multiple times when she was 15 to 17 years old, court records said.Drechsel's lawyer, Frank Riccio, said in a Tweet on Tuesday that his client plans on pleading not guilty. 1634

AN DIEGO (CNS) - A 25-year-old man staying at a hotel in the Core-Columbia area was robbed at gunpoint by two men, who forced their way into his room this morning.The man was staying at the Comfort Inn Hotel at 664 G St. when two men wearing black shirts forced their way into his room at 2:20 a.m, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.The victim was tied up and the suspects ransacked his room, then left, Heims said.A description of the suspects was not available. There were no reports of injuries. 541
