SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A foot pursuit between police and a suspect ended in an officer-involved shooting in the Logan Heights neighborhood Monday.An officer was trying to contact a 30-year-old Hispanic male, later identified as Enrique Aguilar, at about 3:20 p.m. over what he believed to be a narcotics violation, according to San Diego Police Capt. Tom Underwood. Police said at one point, Aguilar pointed the handgun at officers, prompting an exchange of gunfire.Aguilar was struck at least once. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.Neither officer, one a 24-year veteran and the other a 2-year veteran, was injured in the shooting. Underwood added there was another male suspect they were searching for connected to the initial narcotics violation.Both directions of the 3200-3500 blocks of National Ave. have been closed to traffic as officers investigate. Police expected the area to be shut down into the evening.Witness video showed the moment officers opened fire on Aguilar, after multiple demands to drop his weapon. Capt. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A family’s trip to the pumpkin patch goes sour when thieves went picking through their car while they were picking out their pumpkins.Fay Feltman, her daughter, her granddaughter and great grandson went to the pumpkin patch located off Mission Gorge in Grantville.Because of how busy the lot was, they struggled to find an open space. She tells 10 News her daughter ran to the car to find the window smashed and the purse stolen right from the trunk of the car.Feltman says her and her family were only in the patch for about 30 minutes. In that amount of time the thieves broke in, stole the purse and made it to Walmart off Murphy Canyon Road to make the purchase.Before heading into the pumpkin patch, Feltman says they took an extra step to put their purses in the trunk, making sure to not leave them in the back seat and visible.RELATED: Family alerted to burglars roaming tented condoUnfortunately the thieves still smashed the driver’s window to access the trunk latch but only grabbed her daughter’s purse and leaving Feltman’s.Feltman’s daughter has spent the past few days on the phone with the bank trying to cancel cards and reorder new ones.She also was at the DMV all day Monday and purchasing a new phone Tuesday. “Who would dream of people who are so evil and so cruel and so black hearted to do something like this I’m just in shock”.Now, the family left dealing with a complete invasion of privacy and sense of security, ”It’s like you’re violated even though they didn’t take any thing of mine personally they were in my car, reaching into my car just that alone makes you feel dirty, its just an icky feeling” Feltman tells us. 1937

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A father and son heading to see the border wall became stuck in a flooded stretch of the Tijuana River Valley Thursday.Two men from Idaho and North Dakota told 10News, they were on a father-son vacation in San Diego. They said they came down to the Tijuana River Valley to see the border wall with their own eyes. But the out-of-towners did not know about the notorious dip in Saturn Boulevard.According to San Diego Fire-Rescue, the men ignored road closure signs in the flooded area, and drove through the water.Their truck made it halfway across before it got stuck in five feet of water.After the water reached the truck’s window, the 75-year-old father — who was the driver — climbed out and waited on his roof for help to arrive. No injuries were reported. Rescuers were required to go through a multi-step decontamination process after wading into the potentially polluted water.The truck will remain in the water until the flooding has receded, officials told 10News. 1207

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A boy found wandering in the parking lot of a Rolando church Monday was reunited with his mother.The pastor of the Fellowship of Love Divine church found the boy around 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot on Aragon Dr., near the Kroc Center.San Diego Police got a call about 30 minutes later from a mother reporting her child missing from a home about a block away."He was clean. Had on a pair of Pampers, and a pair of socks. And he stuffed had a toy car and he seemed to be really happy, you know," said Pastor James Dawson.The boy was returned to his mother at their apartment nearby. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A group of volunteers is working to make sure homebound seniors get the groceries they need during the Coronavirus Pandemic."We're just a group of friends that saw our Seniors needed help here in San Diego," says volunteer Sydney Prochnow.The effort started over the weekend when one of the volunteers saw an older man struggling to buy groceries. That sparked an idea and a flurry of texts. The call to action quickly turned into advocacy."We jumped on the chance," says volunteer Joshua Daguman. "People said, 'Hey, I can make a website,' 'I can make a GoFundMe,' 'I can do this.' The next day, within honestly four hours, we're up and running."They created StayHomeSD, a donation-based, volunteer-run organization that delivers bags of groceries to any senior who asks for help. The service is free.A GoFundMe donation account pays for the food and delivery costs. Daguman says if the seniors or their families want to pay for what they receive, they're asked to donate to the account."The reward is actually the hope we're bringing to people. The joy, not the groceries," says Daguman.Anyone interested in getting help can sign up online or by phone. StayHomeSD will deliver up to five items per person per week.Volunteers are screened with background checks and must have a clean driving record.
