As businesses across the country deal with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Country Time Lemonade is making sure the country's "littlest entrepreneurs" get the same help.The Littlest Bailout is an economic relief program aimed at helping kids start lemonade stands. Kids who are 14 and younger can get a 0 "stimulus check," which comes in the form of a prepaid card.Country Time says the money is to help kids "preserve the values of lemonade stands, honest work, and entrepreneurship."To apply, parents must upload an essay, 250 words or less, that answers the question, "How would your child use their stimulus check to juice the economy?"Parents must also upload a picture of the lemonade stand sign their child/children were going to use. The limit is one entry per household.According to the official rules, the company plans to give out 1,000 of the prepaid cards.There is no purchase necessary and the program ends on Aug. 12. As coronavirus cases begin to jump again in the United Kingdom, Prime Minster Boris Johnson announced Wednesday a nationwide ban on gatherings of more than six people. The ban goes into effect on Monday.While coronavirus cases in the UK currently pale in comparison to the spread of the virus in the US, the UK has seen a marked jump in infections. According to New York Times data, the rate of new cases has doubled from three weeks ago. Johnson’s announcement comes as the UK reported 32 coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday, the most in a single day since July 29.The UK has a population of 66 million, which is nearly one-fifth the population of the United States, which reported 462 coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday.Previously, the UK had a ban on all gatherings of more than 30 people.“It will be enforced by the police. And anyone breaking the rules risks being dispersed, fined and possibly arrested,” Johnson said.Johnson told reporters on Wednesday that limiting gatherings is an important step in stopping the spread of the virus.“I should stress that if we are to beat the virus, then everyone at all times should limit social contact as much as possible and minimize interactions with other households,” Johnson said. “It's safer to meet outdoors, and you should keep your distance from anyone you don't live with, even if they're close friends or family.”Since the start of the pandemic, the UK has reported more than 41,000 coronavirus-related deaths. In April, the UK was among the hardest hit nations in the world, with its per capita death rate worse than the United States. But the number of coronavirus-related deaths, which peaked at nearly 1,000 per day, quickly dropped in May. As of last week, the UK was averaging fewer than 10 coronavirus-related deaths per day.But the spike in cases has prompted Johnson to impose a stricter mandate on social gatherings.The ban allow some exceptions for workplaces, schools, funerals and weddings.A number of other nations have implemented similar, but less stringent bans on gatherings. An Alabama woman alleges Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager, her attorney Gloria Allred said Monday.Allred said her client, Beverly Young Nelson, would be willing to testify under oath and called on the Senate judiciary committee to hold a hearing and subpoena Moore."Mr. Moore attacked me when I was a child," Nelson said, adding that she was 15 when he began flirting with her and 16 at the time of the alleged assault. "I want Mr. Moore to know that he no longer has any power over me."The allegations of force, if true, would be considered sexual abuse in the first degree, but the statute of limitations in effect at the time would have passed.Nelson detailed her allegations in a statement alongside Allred, an attorney who focuses on discrimination and women's rights.The accusations on Monday came after The Washington Post published a bombshell report last week based on interviews with more than 30 people, saying Moore pursued relationships with teenage women while he was in his 30s.
