CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - Coronado residents who felt the need for speed found themselves stuck in traffic Monday as a prop fighter jet from the Top Gun sequel was moved on city streets. The F-14 fighter was hauled through traffic to the Coronado Bridge on its way to East San Diego County about 9 p.m. A witness stuck in the backup told 10News it was a tight squeeze on the small streets. “They had to do a little backing up, and back and forth for a few minutes,” Emily Foster said. “It finally pulled through and missed a parked car by inches.” The jet, which belongs to the San Diego Air and Space Museum Gillespie Field Annex, was used for the filming of Top Gun 2 at Naval Air Station North Island over the winter. During filming, the F-14 never took flight. “You’ll see it move in the movie, but that’s movie stuff,” said Annex manager Jeff Eads. Crews disassembled the jet for its trip from Coronado to East County. “Take wings off of it, the elevators, the horizontal stabilizers,” said Eads, who had the job of putting it back together.Photos posted on the SDASM Annex Facebook page showed the fighter jet being returned to Gillespie Field with the unique Top Gun markings on its side.Air and Space Museum officials were not able to disclose details about the terms of the plane's involvement in the movie. 1324

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield plans to kneel during the national anthem during the upcoming NFL season, according to a comment he made on Instagram.Mayfield posted a video of a training session on his Instagram Saturday afternoon.In the comments, an Instagram user asked him to tell Browns fans that he wasn't going to kneel this season, to which Mayfield replied, "Pull your head out. CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — An Indiana man has been charged with murder after he allegedly killed and decapitated his wife.Police arrested Michael Parks of Crawfordsville on Friday after investigators found his wife's body and severed head, according to court documents filed Monday.On Aug. 20, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office received a report of a deceased woman, identified as Hope Parks, whose headless body was found on County Road 225 on the Sugar Creek Bridge.Michael Parks told Crawfordsville police his wife had been missing since Aug. 18 following an argument. He said the last time he saw her was when she left their house and got into a silver or white Honda that was driven by an unknown person.During a search of the couple's house, police found dried blood in the gravel driveway in front of an overhead garage door, on the garage floor with a shoe print and on an exterior deck. Officers also discovered a trail of dried blood in the grass.Later in the day, investigators found a human head with a bullet wound buried in the cellar of the house.Police also found a .22 caliber rifle and ammunition, which matched a spent .22 caliber cartridge casing that was found in the yard next to a trail of blood. A phone believed to have belonged to Hope Parks was found in a safe in the home's bedroom. Investigators also found a man's shoe with tread similar to the footprint in the blood droppings in the garage.The next day, investigators discovered a blue tarp that was stained with blood, along with hair and plastic bags containing blood-covered rags that were found in the hole where the severed head was buried.An initial hearing for Michael Parks was held Tuesday. CORONADO (KGTV) - Friends gathered to mourn Navy sailor Curtis Adams Saturday night, who was killed while trying to help what he thought was a stranded driver on I-15 last week.His friends told stories on Breakers Beach at Naval Air Station North Island about how he loved cars, was a goofy basketball player and how he always made sure his hair was in place. They said that he was exactly the type of guy to pull over to help somebody in need.They released lighted balloons by candlelight to honor the 21-year-old sailor from New York.Brandon Acuna, 21, was arrested for Adams' murder. He is accused of shooting Adams after Adams stopped to help him on the side of I-15 near I-5.Acuna pled not guilty in his arraignment on Wednesday. He is due back in court on November 9.   803
