BEIJING, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan Saturday met with former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, calling on both countries to handle strategic issues in bilateral ties with a broader vision and a longer-term perspective.

Addressing the seminar, Chen Zhu, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and president of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC), called for efforts to strengthen humanitarian communication and collaboration and join hands to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

The 15 guest countries of honor are Cambodia, the Czech Republic, France, Greece, India, Italy, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Peru, Russia, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Zambia.

In July, ambassadors from more than 50 countries to the UN office at Geneva co-signed a letter to the president of the UN Human Rights Council and High Commissioner for Human Rights, praising China for its respect and protection of human rights in fighting terrorism and deradicalization.

"Both China and Greece hold that different civilizations should respect each other and facilitate experience sharing, mutual learning and conversation among civilizations," he said.
