An Arizona family is celebrating a major milestone. Baby Henley was born with a congenital heart defect or a hole in her heart. Weighing in at only 4 pounds and 7 ounces, there was a lot of concern about her health because she just would not eat."Because of the hole in her heart, she just could not eat, it was too difficult for her, so she struggled a lot to gain weight," said Megan Beebe, Henley's mother.So, from the age of 5 months old, Henley has relied on a feeding tube to get all of her nutrition."At one point, it was giving her 100% of her nutrition. We would put all of her formula, breast milk through the feeding tube," said Beebe.In her two years since she was born, Henley has had hundreds of doctor's appointments and five surgeries. She has also been working with a feeding therapist based out of the United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona. Henley does not have cerebral palsy, but her mother tells KNXV they really liked the specialized therapist they have been working with, so they have stuck with the organization."We just had to keep working our way up, until one day she ate an entire Cheeto Puff all by herself," said Beebe.That one Cheeto Puff was a big milestone for Henley."It took her about 10 full minutes to eat one Cheeto Puff but she ate the whole Cheeto Puff all by herself, did not throw up," said Beebe, talking about the relief they felt. They were finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel of Henley's tough road to being able to eat without the aid of a feeding tube.After 27 months, Henley's feeding tube was finally removed. It was a big moment for Beebe. She tells KNXV she sometimes could not help but feel like a failure as a mother."Our number one job is to feed her and keep her alive, and we couldn't do that," said Beebe."The day we finally got to take her feeding tube out, it was like, it was just a miracle. An Ohio state legislator is urging people not to get tested for COVID-19.Republican State Rep. Nino Vitale made the request on his state representative Facebook page Tuesday after the state announced that counties determined to be "high-risk" for COVID-19 would require face coverings be worn in public."Are you tired of living in a dictatorship yet?" Vitale said. "This is what happens when people go crazy and get tested. STOP GETTING TESTED!"Vitale claimed testing is "giving the government an excuse to claim something is happening that is not happening at the magnitude they say it is happening."Vitale's claim echoed those made by President Donald Trump last month at a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma — that an increase in testing is leading to disproportionately high case numbers. Trump has said he has asked administration officials to "slow down" testing to artificially deflate numbers, though many in his administration dispute those claims.Daily confirmed cases of COVID-19 have steadily risen in Ohio since the beginning of June as testing has increased. But according to figures from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, it's not just new cases that are on the rise in Ohio — deaths are also beginning to tick up, and hospitalization resource use is also on the rise, indicating that an increase in testing is not the only factor in the numbers spike.Currently, about 20 people die each day of COVID-19 in Ohio. The IHME estimates that with universal mask requirements, that number would drop to about four a day by Sept. 1.Ohio currently lists seven counties that are considered "high risk." Vitale's district does not fall in any of those counties.Despite recommendations from health experts, Vitale has consistently rallied supporters against the use of masks and face coverings. Among the many casualties of social-distancing directives is the child’s birthday party. So when coronavirus lockdowns came to Truckee in the California mountains, Craig Fierro wanted to do his part. Fierro runs a shop specializing in motorized vehicles, parts and maintenance northwest of Lake Tahoe. He also carries brightly colored toy replicas of the motorbikes that are a favorite of kids who come to the shop. So he started dropping them off as wrapped birthday presents for tots and teens in the community in mid-April. According to the Sierra Sun, Fierro posted on Facebook asking if there were kids celebrating during the pandemic. After he handed out what he had in his story, Fierro got a surprise when he went to re-order. When the distribution center learned what he was doing, they reportedly sent him double his order. An amateur artist is raising thousands of dollars for charity with his simplistic portraits of pets.It started when Phil Heckels drew a picture of their family dog as a way to encourage his son to write a thank you note. He uploaded a picture of the portrait to social media calling it “crap”.The drawing featured googly eyes and long limbs. Heckels joked he would sell it for about 0. He was inundated with offers.Now, he says he has more than 1,000 requests waiting for him from people who want him to draw their pets.He has drawn 240 portraits so far. Heckels, who goes by Hercule Van Wolfwinkle on his portraits, doesn’t get paid for the pictures. He asks people to donate to a charity that helps the homeless.So far, donations from Heckels supporters have totaled more than ,000. 798

An area of open desert south of Tucson Airport has commonly been referred to as the "Dogpatch." The land has been known to be a dumping ground for trash and dogs, and it has been going on for decades. Angels for Animals is one of many groups that over the years has tried to clean up the Dogpatch.A volunteer with the organization, Jason Gilliam, said that it is an issue that will never go away for good, but it can be managed. "If we make it out here without seeing a dead one, it's a good day." Gilliam says for every weekly visit; they'll find between three to five dead dogs.The Pima County Sheriff's Department says their efforts to stop illegal dog dumping depends on the number of reports they get from people in the area. Deputy James Allerton says as a community, it could be possible to clean up the Dogpatch one day.  877
