LAKELAND, Fla. -- A family argument on Mother's Day turned violent and ended in the arrest of a mother and a son in Lakeland, Florida. Seth Bryant, 27, was arrested for felony battery (domestic violence) on his father, 58-year-old Clayton Bryant, after deputies say Seth and Clayton got into a physical argument over alcohol. The father and son were arguing after Seth demanded he be allowed to have more alcohol, according to the arrest affidavits. Seth reportedly put his fist against his father's face and pushed him with it, deputies say. After deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene, Seth reportedly made numerous derogatory racial comments toward the deputy who is black. As Seth was being arrested, Judy Bryant, 54, shoved her husband against a counter and said "How's this for domestic violence?" She then refused commands by the deputies and resisted the deputy's efforts to arrest her. Ultimately, she was placed into handcuffs and was arrested. Judy Bryant was charged with misdemeanor battery (domestic violence). 1083

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A young girl born without an arm now has a prosthetic one after teachers at Sunshine Elementary in Lehigh Acres made an arm just for her.It's a dream come true for student Dulce Jaimes.  "I didn't know what was happening until Mr. Demeri showed up," Dulce said. The third grader was born without half an arm, but recently received a prosthetic one after her teacher decided to use a 3-D printer to make one. "She was perfect before the arm," teacher Rachel Canino said.  "Now that she has the arm, she's a celebrity."A celebrity who's an extra helping hand for her family.  "I can help my mom out with my brother," Dulce said. "When I get two yogurts because they're small, I let the other one carry it and I hold the other one." Eric Demeri, who made Dulce's arm, started the 3-D printing lab back in the fall. He said originally the lab was for printing things like pencil holders. But after getting word of Dulce's situation he was up for the challenge of something bigger.Demeri said he had never printed something that took more than six hours. But Dulce's arm took nearly 40 hours, with some failed attempts. Eventually, he got it right.  "When I actually got it to work and I had my daughter testing it out, I'm like, ‘This is going to be, this is going to be pretty big for Dulce,’" he said.Now she's lifting water bottles, pencils and pretty much anything she can get her hands on.She said she was thankful."It was really nice of you," she said.  "I was excited, and thank you Mr. Demeri."   1638

Lion Air Flight 610 was intact with its engines running when it crashed at high speed into the Java Sea, the head of Indonesia's National Transportation Safety Committee said Monday.Soerjanto Tjahjono said that due to the small size of the debris found and loss of the plane's engine blades, investigators determined that Flight 610 did not explode in the air, but was in "good shape" before it crashed 13 minutes after takeoff on Monday, October 29.Speaking with victims' families on Monday in Jakarta, Soerjanto said there was a technical problem with the brand new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on the day of the crash. He did not provide further details about the problem.Authorities previously confirmed that the pilots flying the same plane on another route the day before the crash had experienced technical issues.The confirmation of Flight 610's condition comes as divers continue to search for the aircraft's missing cockpit voice recorder (CVR), commonly known as a black box, which could help investigators piece together the plane's final moments before it crashed, killing all 189 people on board. 1115

(KGTV) - A woman in Lakeside has set up a cabinet full of "Goodies to Share" for homeless people living near Cactus Park.Barbara DeYoung says she got the idea from the "Little Free Libraries" she sees in her neighbors' yards."You just go very freely and get something. It's just people sharing with you," she says. "It's a very nice feeling, and I thought for sure they would love that."She set up the cabinet near the San Vincente Creek that runs behind Cactus Park, an area where several homeless people have set up encampments."I felt these are wonderful human beings. But they have problems. They have situations they can't control," DeYoung explains. "But they can read a book in the evening. They can play games, whatever they need to do."Rather than filling the cabinet with food, DeYoung stocks it with comfort items like books, blankets, wipes, playing cards, and other things that aren't usually available to homeless people at shelters or service offices.DeYoung says it's about feeding their souls and showing them respect and love, rather than just handing them food.The cabinet has already become a hit. DeYoung had to restock it just a few days after she first set it up. And just a few minutes after she refilled the cabinet, our cameras caught a man coming up from the creek bed to grab some wipes out of it.He asked not to be identified but says it feels good to know that people care.Meanwhile, DeYoung doesn't believe it will attract more homeless people to the area, but it will make life more bearable for the ones already there."I don't think boxes of raisins are going to bring armies of people here," she says. LARGO, Fla. — The family of Linus Phillip, a man killed by a Largo Police officer in Florida on Friday, is accusing detectives of using the dead man's finger to gain access to his cell phone.On Friday, police approached Phillip's car at a WaWa gas station in Clearwater. Police said the vehicle he was driving had illegally tinted windows. While standing near Phillip's car, the officers claim they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Police claim Phillip tried to drive away and use his car as a deadly weapon. One officer, Matthew Steiner, says he was dragged by the car when he tried to open the door and feared for his life.Phillip was shot and killed by police. He did not have a gun in his possession. Steiner, a seven year veteran with no disciplinary action against him, was injured during the incident but is OK.Phillip's family is demanding surveillance video from the incident at the WaWa gas station in Clearwater where he was killed. Police claim the encounter was not caught on video, only officers giving Phillip CPR.The family lawyer, John Trevena was surprised."There was no denial of the video to the family so this is the first I've heard of that," said Trevena.The family also claims that detectives used Phillip's lifeless finger to access his phone at the Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home."So they are allowed to pull him out of the refrigerator and use a dead mans finger to get to his phone. Its disgusting," said Armstrong.Police did not comment on the allegations, citing that there is a still an active investigation into the case.Phillip's mother, Martha Hicks started crying during an interview on Wednesday."They killed him after his 30th birthday. Oh god, he turned 30 on March 11," Hicks said. "It's too much too much we just want to know what happened."The couple has two children together. Their young daughter lost her battle with leukemia last year.Their son, Isaac is 16 months old."My son is no longer going to go have a father, or to make his dad proud.
