TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Tallahassee Police Department announced Tuesday the outcome of a "large-scale" human trafficking investigation that resulted in 178 people being arrested.The department recently concluded a two-year-long operation, called "Operation Stolen Innocence," involving human trafficking and child sex trafficking right within the Capital City community.TPD Chief Revell said that it started with an investigation after a 13-year-old child’s image was seen on a prostitution website. Investigators with TPD’s Special Victims Unit set up an operation to rescue the child to ensure her safety. Police said all suspects are from the southeast region, spanning all the way to Mississippi and Alabama.Revell said that he's "never been a case of this magnitude" in the 30 years he's been in Tallahassee. One of the investigators who was praised for her work on the case called the initial case that leads to dozens of arrests "horrific." (AP) — NASCAR says a noose was found in the garage stall of Bubba Wallace on Sunday at the NASCAR race in Talladega, Alabama.Wallace is the only full-time Black driver in NASCAR's elite Cup Series. Target is hiring more than 100,000 temporary workers for the holidays -- a sharp increase over last year.The company announced Wednesday that the jobs will be in stores and distribution and fulfillment centers. The workers will stock shelves, help customers, pack and load products and fill online orders.In 2016, Target brought on 77,500 temporary workers.Target will hold recruiting events at each of its 1,800 stores from October 13 through 15. The company says applicants can interview and even be offered jobs on the spot.Prospective hires can also apply online.The temporary workers get a few benefits, including a 10% discount at the store and online, and 20% for fruits, vegetables and other "wellness" products.Employees who already work at Target can increase their hours during the holiday season. 816
