POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Polk County, Florida are on the hunt for the man who allegedly pushed a woman out of a moving vehicle at over 75 miles per hour.Deputies say Remond Brown, 44, and his girlfriend got into an argument at dinner because she was on Facebook.According to deputies, the argument continued while the two were driving back to Pinellas Park. They say things turned physical, and that Brown slapped and punched the victim, with a closed fist, multiple times on the face.Witnesses in other vehicles advised that the suspect vehicle was driving erratically westbound on Highway 60 in Lake Wales. That's when deputies say Brown reached over and opened the victim's door and pushed her out of the car while traveling at highway speeds, approximately 75-80 mph, per the witness accounts.Two witnesses stopped to helped the victim."Other travelers on the road stopped to help the victim, but not Remond," the Polk County Sheriff's office said on Facebook. "He did stop, but only to look back at the victim and yell, 'Blank this blank', before getting back into the car, and driving off. And no, 'blank' was not the word he used."Deputies said the victim was clearly distraught and made multiple statements to the witnesses that "he was going to kill me, he is going to kill me, don't leave me he will kill me." Brown left the scene in the victim's Black 2017 Honda Accord. The vehicle has a Florida license plate with tag number 717TDH. Brown is approximately 5-foot-4-inches tall and weighs roughly 170 pounds.Deputies say that there is a history of physical violence and Brown has a history of run-ins with the law, ranging from charges of grand theft to murder.The Polk County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for his arrest with charges of 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, Battery (Domestic Violence), Violation of an Injunction, and Grand Theft Motor Vehicle pending.  1948

PORTLAND, Ore. — A peaceful protest morphed into an intense early morning confrontation between demonstrators and law enforcement in Oregon's largest city.U.S. agents fired what appeared to be tear gas, flash bangs and pepper balls early Monday to clear a mass of protesters outside the federal courthouse in Portland.Some protesters had climbed over the fence surrounding the courthouse. Others shot fireworks, banged on the fence and projected lights on the building.The city has seen nightly protests for about 60 straight days since the death of George Floyd.The Monday morning scene in Portland has become the norm in the city in recent days. Authorities declared a riot in the are of the courthouse on early Sunday morning as some protests breached a gate surrounding the building. The Associated Press reported that six people were arrested.Later on Sunday, Portland police say a person was shot at a park near where the protests take place. Two people were taken into custody in connection with the incident but later released. The person who was shot was later treated at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Portland police also reported Sunday that a bag was found at the same park that contained loaded rifle magazines and Molotov cocktails. It's unclear if the items were related to the protests, and police say the items are not connected with Sunday's shootings.Though protests have continued for weeks in Portland, they've escalated in the past week since the arrival of federal agents. The agents were sent to Portland as part of a directive from President Donald Trump and Acting Sec. of Homeland Security Chad Wolf to prevent the defacement of monuments, statues and federal property.However, both Oregon Gov. Kate Brown and Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler have said they do not welcome the presence of the agents and have asked the Trump administration to order their removal. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man who went missing from Poway Saturday night has been found safe. Authorities said Sunday morning that 84-year-old Orlando H. Lugo was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night. Lugo suffers from memory loss.He was later spotted around 9:20 a.m. walking along the side of southbound Interstate 15 near Scripps Poway Parkway. He has previously walked from Poway to Mira Mesa and Escondido. Lugo was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.  508
