NATIONAL CITY (KGTV) -- Police in National City are searching for several suspects who reportedly robbed a jewelry store early Tuesday afternoon. According to police, three suspects entered the Eclipse Jewelry store just before 12:30 p.m. The suspects, only described as police as three black men, smashed three to six jewelry cases and got away with an unknown amount of jewelry. RELATED: Good Samaritan picks up diamond ring dropped by jewelry store robber, witnesses sayAfter leaving the store, police say the suspects ran to a getaway car on North 2nd Avenue. Police are looking into whether or not this incident is linked to a string of jewelry store robberies in late 2018 and early 2017. Between December of 2018 and February of 2019, at least three other jewelry stores throughout San Diego County were robbed in a similary manner. MILWAUKEE — Protesters marched the 38 miles between Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Milwaukee on Tuesday to call for justice for Jacob Blake and encourage early voting.The Jacob Blake “Rally for Justice” began just after midnight in Kenosha, and the marchers wound its way through the streets of southeastern Wisconsin more than 30 miles to downtown Milwaukee nearly 18 hours later.Organizers hope the energy from the march will carry voters to the ballot boxes this month, as early voting gets underway in Wisconsin.Tanya McClean, the executive director of Leaders of Kenosha, led the group on the march.“We’re going to continue fighting for Jacob and all the families that have lost love ones to police brutality,” McClean said.Jacob Blake’s uncle says the support for his nephew is appreciated.“These people walked 38 miles baby, that’s commitment for justice for little Jake,” Justin Blake said.Justin Blake also demanded that Kenosha Police Officer Rusten Sheskey be fired, indicted, and convicted. Sheskey shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back in August, leaving him paralyzed.Justin Blake said the family would ask local elected officials to make a pledge against systemic racism.“We’re going to ask you to sign a document to tell us where you stand on the shooting that you saw and the whole world saw. So that people can vote consciously about where you stand on systemic racism” Justin Blake said.Justin Blake says his nephew remains paralyzed from the waist down in an Illinois rehabilitation center, working on his upper body strength.The investigation into the shooting has been handed over to an independent consultant. (KGTV) - As political tensions rise worldwide, critical training ensuring the U.S. and it's allies are ready runs straight through San Diego.MCAS Miramar hosts everyone from the Canadian Air Force, to NASA. On Wednesday, a NASA research jet took off from the flight line.Part of why Miramar is so critical is it's location. Colonel Charles Dockery, the Commanding Officer at MCAS Miramar, said due to air congestion over land, Miramar's location close to the ocean alleviates that complication."Within one flight's distance from Miramar, we are within 66% of the training air space in the Continental U.S." he said. Some of their training, mimicked in Top Gun. "Not only to take down an adversary or an airplane, but also defend ourselves from their aircraft trying to attack us," he said. Right now, MCAS Miramar is working to remain competitive with nations overseas."We have four major nation state competitors out there, Russia China, North Korea and Iran," Col. Dockery said.If the need arises, he said troops would deploy from Miramar to support the effort to defend the U.S.He said if Miramar didn't exist, it would mean millions of tax-payer dollars to conduct the same training. "When you talk about the amount of fuel burned to get there, just when you talk about the amount of time to get there," he said.Col. NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Nashville restaurant held a socially-distanced, drive-in comedy show on Wednesday.The show was at Daddy's Dogs location in The Nations. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant has held music concerts to bring more people to the shop."It was a big shift for us to go basically to a full restaurant, instead of doing our carts and going to the people, so we knew we had to do something to make some waves and make people know that we're here," Daddy's Dogs owner Sean Porter said.But on Wednesday night, the parking lot performance shifted gears from music to comedy."I'm really excited about this, it's a little different than what we've done in the past," Porter said. "As far as I know there really hasn't been a big drive-in comedy show so there's a first for everything!"A few dozen carloads of people poured into the restaurant's parking lot for the show, flashing their lights and honking for the lineup of local comedians to take the place of laughter."This is just something that's nice that lets people feel safe, they're in their own space, and give them an outlet to not think about whats going on in the world," Porter said. "I think it's just something everybody needs right now."The concert series at Daddy's Dogs runs through the end of October. More than 228,000 pounds of Hormel Spam and other canned meat products are being recalled because they might contain shards of metal, according to the US Department of Agriculture.The department's Food Safety Inspection Service said Saturday that the problem was discovered after four customers complained of metal objects in canned Hormel products. The FSIS did not say how the pieces of metal might have gotten into the products.Throughout the US, 12-ounce metal cans labeled "SPAM Classic" with the designation "EST. 199N" should not be eaten because of a risk of minor oral injuries, FSIS said. The cans have a "Best By" date of February 2021 and carry the following production codes: F020881, F020882, F020883, F020884, F020885, F020886, F020887, F020888 and F020889.Possibly contaminated cans of meat were also distributed in Guam. These 12-ounce metal cans contain "Hormel Food Black-Label Luncheon Loaf." The recalled cans are marked "Best By" February 2021 and carry the production codes F02098 and F02108.The products should be immediately thrown away or returned to the place of purchase, FSIS said. In a statement, Hormel said it was recalling the products "out of an abundance of caution," and that "the health and safety of consumers is our top concern."In 2016, Hormel voluntarily recalled 40 cases of Dinty Moore Beef Stew -- also because of possible contamination by "extraneous materials."The US-based Hormel Foods Corporation sells products in more than 70 countries. 1504
