SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police Wednesday released bodycam video following a deadly officer-involved shooting in Oak Park in late January. The graphic video opens with San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit explaining what led up to the shooting. According to Nisleit, officers spotted Toby Diller, 31, on the 2900 block of 54th Street with an open container of alcohol. RELATED: Officers, suspect identified in deadly Oak Park shootingNisleit says officers activated lights on their patrol car and tried to make contact with Diller, but he ran away. Video of the incident shows the officers, later identified as Benjamin Downing and Devion Johnson, running after Diller before catching up to him. At that point, Nisleit says Diller resisted arrest, grappling with police on the ground. "The officers gave him verbal commands to stop resisting, but he refused to cooperate,'' Lt. Matt Dobbs previously said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- New details are emerging after an infant was attacked by a pit bull in Logan Heights Monday night.Family members now say the dog broke free of its leash before running to the infant’s bouncy chair. The pit bull was reportedly startled by the chair, leading to the attack.8-week-old Jema Gonzales is said to be in serious condition and has so far had one surgery.RELATED: Baby severely injured by pit bull bite in Logan HeightsThe incident happened on Irving Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Monday. After the attack, paramedics took Jema to the hospital with lacerations to the face and possibly a punctured eye. Witnesses originally said the dog licked then bit Jema’s face. Players throw an axe at a wooden target and score points based on where the axe lands. There are three rounds, with five throws per player.Steve and Annie Wyland created the facility after throwing axes on the East Coast. Steve lost his job, and the couple decided to move to San Diego.Their new project offers experiences like birthday and bachelor/bachelorette parties, and corporate outings. Five of the facility’s 11 lanes are dedicated to walk-ins. There’s also league play on Wednesday nights.If you’ve never thrown an axe, don’t worry, BattleAxe SD says. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- National Forests throughout Southern California will close Monday night as wildfires continue to ravage the state.Stanislaus National Forest, Sierra National Forest, Sequoia National Forest, Inyo National Forest, Los Padres National Forest, Angeles National Forest, San Bernardino National Forest, and Cleveland National Forest will all close Monday at 5 p.m., according to the US Department of Agriculture.The agency also prohibited the use of any ignition source on all National Forest System lands throughout the state.All developed campgrounds and day-use sited in National Forests throughout the state have will also shutter operations.“The wildfire situation throughout California is dangerous and must be taken seriously. Existing fires are displaying extreme fire behavior, new fire starts are likely, weather conditions are worsening, and we simply do not have enough resources to fully fight and contain every fire,” said Randy Moore, Regional Forester for the USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region.“We are bringing every resource to bear nationally and internationally to fight these fires, but until conditions improve, and we are confident that National Forest visitors can recreate safely, the priority is always to protect the public and our firefighters.
