The victim spotted the trio of burglars inside the house in the 7100 block of Terra Cotta Road about 3:30 a.m., according to San Diego police. One of the intruders pointed a gun at the man while demanding valuables along with his cohorts, Officer Frank Cali said. During the confrontation, at least one of the robbers hit the victim with an unidentified object. After gathering property from inside the residence, the thieves fled in a stolen maroon 2011 Toyota RAV4, California license No. 6UJW830. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego Zoo Safari Park's youngest southern white rhino began integrating with the rest of the park's rhino herd Wednesday, meeting a rhino other than his mother for the first time since his birth 10 weeks ago.Edward and his mother, Victoria, have remained sequestered from the rest of the herd since his birth in July to allow the two to bond and ensure he builds weight and stamina. The calf's weight has nearly quadrupled since then and he has only entered the Safari Park's rhino enclosure with Victoria.Edward met Helene, an adult female southern white rhino, after she sparred with Victoria, who was very protective of her calf, according to the zoo's animal care staff. In July, they created Light the Way Project and have been helping peers across San Diego, the U.S., and the world with virtual peer-to-peer webinars followed by Q & A sessions."When we talk about our experiences people younger than us they feel better and reassured about the future," said one of the group's administrators. "People appreciate we're doing this especially in a pandemic." The group covers relevant topics like competitive culture, dealing with stress and anxiety, and managing your time when learning from home. "We talked about different strategies such as sleep schedules, managing priorities, divide and conquer strategies, and how to take productive breaks."They promote their events through social media, word of mouth, and forums like NextDoor. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A family moving from Philadelphia to San Diego says they had their belongings stolen within the first 30 minutes of being here.The family says it all happened in the parking lot of a Target store in Mission Valley. The cargo carrier atop their car, stolen from the roof.The family says they think the suspects who stole the items may be professionals. Michael Kaminis says he thinks the thieves knew what they were doing when they unhooked the carrier without leaving a mark. “I was in shock, the kids were crying.”Kaminis says despite the setback, his family is staying positive. “You can’t let a thing like this deter a big life decision, they’re still on board, they love the idea of San Diego.
