OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Three suspects were arrested Monday after reportedly shooting and injuring three women at an Oceanside shopping center.Police say Anthony Tua, 19, Deshune Bryant, 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile were all arrested for the shooting.Investigators don’t believe the victims were the intended targets because the suspects reportedly shot into a large group of people. The shooting appears to be gang motivated, according to police.RELATED: Three women injured in Oceanside shooting  The shooting took place on the 3700 block of Mission Avenue at 5:15 p.m. Sunday.According to police, three women were in the front of a clothing store when three black men suddenly came up to them before shooting. All three victims suffered non-life threatening injuries."The only thing was, 'Save the kids!' because I don't know what was happening," said Angelica Camiro, a waitress who was taking her nephews to get ice cream when the shots rang out.Camiro said she ran back into the restaurant and told all the customers to get to the back of the store before calling police. 1101

On Thursday, for the second straight day, the U.S. recorded more than 3,000 deaths linked to the coronavirus.According to a database kept by the COVID Tracking Project, 3,067 across the country were confirmed to have died of complications from COVID-19 on Thursday. The U.S. surpassed the 3,000 death mark for the first time on Wednesday when 3,088 deaths linked to the virus were recorded.Johns Hopkins University, which uses different methods in recording deaths, reports that 2,993 Americans died of the virus on Thursday. Both the COVID Tracking Project and Johns Hopkins report that Wednesday and Thursday marked the top two deadliest days since the start of the pandemic.The 3,000+ deaths represent more lives lost than in U.S. tragedies like the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks and the attack on Pearl Harbor prior to U.S. involvement in World War II.And while consecutive days of 3,000 death represent a level of loss not yet seen since the pandemic began, health officials warn that it could become the new normal — at least in the coming weeks. A spike in deaths typically trails a few weeks behind spikes in new cases and hospitalizations — both of which have been steadily increasing without respite for more than a month. Since Nov. 1, the seven-day average of new COVID-19 has exploded from 80,538 a day to 205,425 a day. In that same span, the number of people hospitalized with the virus has more than doubled from 47,531 to 107,248.Those extra patients are placing an enormous workload on hospitals throughout the country. Hospitals across the country are currently operating at maximum capacity, forcing doctors to treat patients in overflow areas like parking garages. (KGTV) — An investigation is underway to find a mail thief who appears to be targeting military families living on Camp Pendleton.A few weeks ago, Jessica, a Marine wife who lives on the base, went to her mailbox and saw a card from a friend in Arkansas."Opened up my card, and after I opened it, I realized there was a slit down the side," said Jessica.After a closer look, Jessica realized someone had been in her mail."A clean cut down the side. Didn't get caught on anything. A machine didn't make this ... Just irritated. It's an invasion of privacy," said Jessica.Jessica says her card never did contain any cash or gift cards, but others on base haven't been as lucky."They're furious, and they want something done," said Jessica.Jessica says on various Facebook pages connected to the base, hundreds have posted photos of tampered mail received in the past two months. The envelopes are usually missing cash, gift cards or checks."Pretty disgusting. Pretty shameful ... It's no accident it's happening to us. Military families are an easy target. We're not with our families. Families make up for it by sending us a little extra, definitely for our kids," said Jessica.So what is the commonality when it comes to the mail? It's processed and delivered by the Postal Service. The closest post office is about a mile-and-a-half from the base.The Postal Inspection Service confirms they've begun an investigation, along with an internal probe.
