BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- China on Tuesday urged Japan to walk the talk and take concrete actions to improve bilateral ties, according to a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
Ruan Zongze, executive vice president of the China Institute of International Studies, said: "BRICS cooperation has not only helped the countries themselves, but enhanced the right to speak on global issues for all developing countries."
Lyle Charles Laxton, CEO of South Africa-based Laxton Group, shared the same view about China.
He hopes South Korea could consider China's "double suspension" proposal on the Korean Peninsula carefully, which refers to suspension of missile and nuclear tests by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and of joint military drills by the United States and South Korea.
"It shows the features of Xiamen," said Zhang Zhijun with the Xiamen branch of China Post. "With the sea we would like to imply that the summit is a new starting point for the countries to sail into a bright future."
