Living in a shelter, the single mom is trying to get back on her feet.She was one of the first people working at the "Dignity Food Truck" in Vero Beach."I've just been making food, certain dishes, just learning. (The organizers) give you on the job training and actually give you a job," said Smith.Set up by the Source, a Christian Ministry outreach in Vero Beach, it is a new program for the homeless and unemployed."What our students lack is real-time training in front of real customers. That's what Dignity Food Truck gives them. It gives them real exposure in real-time, made-to-order food," said Anthony Zorbaugh, the executive director of the Source.Chef Henry Restrepo said this is his most important mission in two decades of cooking."We train them for the culinary so they can get their life back," said Restrepo.Money raised goes back into the program.The truck was made possible by a 0,000 grant from the philanthropic group Impact 100."We love the mission. We love the project itself. Two men were stabbed inside a Macy's store at the Mall of America in Minnesota just before closing Sunday night, the Star Tribune reports. The suspect was taken into custody following the incident. Police said it was an "interrupted theft" that led to the stabbings. According to police, the suspect waited until two men left the dressing room and then attempted to steal their belongings. The men interrupted the suspect, who pulled a knife and stabbed the victims. Other shoppers subdued the suspect until police arrived.The victims had non-life threatening injuries. 607

Tumblr, a popular blog service owned and operated by Yahoo, says it will ban "adult content" from its site on Dec. 17.The decision comes just weeks after the Tumblr app was temporarily removed from Apple's App Store after child pornography was found on the site. Tumblr said in a statement to The Verge that the decision to ban adult content did not stem from that incident.Tumblr's new policy bans "explicit sexual content" and most instances of nudity. The site added that nudity "found in art," as well as nudity in the context of health-related situations and in the context of political protest or newsworthy events would still be permitted.Tumblr also says that written erotica will still be permitted on the site.After Dec. 17, any explicit content flagged by algorithms will be hidden from public view but not deleted from the site. Utah officials suspended the license of a mortuary in South Salt Lake after reports of employees stealing jewelry from bodies, conducting cremations without identification and leaving bodies outside refrigerators.On Thursday, the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing released an emergency order suspending the licenses of the Carver Mortuary Service and funeral directors Tanner Carver and Shane Westmoreland.The directors "engaged in conduct which constitutes gross incompetence, gross negligence or a pattern of incompetency," the report stated.But Westmoreland dismissed the claims as being from "disgruntled" former employees."They're making all sorts of claims that are simply not true," Westmoreland told KSL. "There's never been a body here that's been treated with disrespect," he said. "There's never anything that's been stolen."After receiving a license in February 2008, the funeral home provided services for Intermountain Medical Center, Utah's Office of the Medical Examiner and Salt Lake County, according to the report.Two former employees hired at the mortuary earlier this year testified before state regulators, according to the report.Robert Price said he did not hold a license when he was hired as a removal assistant in February. His duties included removing deceased people from various locations, performing cremations and sewing together an autopsy patient.According to the order from the state licensing agency, he said he witnessed the funeral directors violating ethical cremation practices, including cremating infant remains with deceased adults at the same time.This "occurred on a regular basis" during his employment, Price told regulators.Price also reported the cremation retort was not fully emptied after use, and unidentified ashes were thrown away.Although the mortuary kept a cremation log, Price said the log was often incomplete. Cremated persons were sometimes unidentified or missing paperwork authorizing cremation, according to his testimony.Employees also separated "gold and precious metals" from human remains, selling the metals and keeping the "significant" profits, according to the order from the state licensing division.The second employee, Erin Christensen, also did not hold a license when he was hired as a removal assistant in March, according to the order. He was fired from the mortuary in August, the report noted.He testified refrigerators containing bodies was often full, and unembalmed bodies were left outside of the refrigerators for periods of a day or longer.The embalming room was also unsanitary, according to the report, and appliances and services were not cleaned regularly.Both former employees said taking jewelry, watches and rings from bodies was a common practice at the mortuary. Christensen testified he had seen employees wearing the items, the state report said.The funeral directors failed to provide records state inspectors requested from the mortuary, the report stated."The respondents have failed to comply with the ethical standards of the profession that require all deceased persons to be treated with the highest respect and dignity," the report concluded.State officials will hold a formal hearing to decide the final disciplinary action for the mortuary and its operators.Westmoreland believes the company will be vindicated."Once we do explain all these things, I'm confident that they will grant the license back," he said. 3451

The city also said it has extended the stance to commercial uses.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Amid new COVID-19 restrictions, some local churches and gyms are expected to begin using San Diego's parks to conduct operations outside beginning Monday morning.City Councilman Chris Cate proposed the idea in mid-July, and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved a similar ordinance for county parks on Aug. 5.The ordinance means the City of San Diego's more than 300 parks, 26 miles of shoreline, and 57 recreation centers could be used for gyms, fitness classes, and worship services, however social distancing and face coverings are still encouraged.The ordinance defers park permit fees for 60 days. Mayor Kevin Faulconer will bring an ordinance to the council once it is back in session in September to make the waiving of fees permanent.This latest move is Faulconer's third executive order allowing for some businesses to operate outside.Previously, he had allowed for some retail and restaurants, and subsequently for gyms, barbershops, hair salons, and massage businesses to expand to sidewalks and private parking lots.In Poway, officials approved a plan to share park space with places of worship and fitness centers. 1404
