China's Tiangong-1 space lab re-entered the Earth's atmosphere around 8.15 a.m. Monday (8:15 p.m. ET Sunday) in a fiery fall, China's Manned Space Agency said.Tiangong-1 plummeted into the middle of the South Pacific, the space agency said."Most parts were burned up in the re-entry process," the agency said.The out-of-control 40-foot long Tiangong-1, or "Heavenly Palace," is one of China's highest profile space projects. (KGTV) — Now that guidance has been issued for playgrounds to reopen in California, Chula Vista says it reopened all of its 50 playgrounds on Friday.The city said the reopening process for its playgrounds includes guidance for visitors to follow to help curb the spread of the coronavirus:Visitors over the age of two need face coveringsUsers should wash and sanitize hands before and after useMaintain six-foot distancing from those outside your householdCaregiver supervision/monitoring required at all times to ensure guidelines are followedFollow maximum occupancy rules that are posted at entrance to each playgroundChula Vista says it will implement regular cleaning protocols, but warn that the locations may get a lot of use as they reopen. (AP) — The potential magnitude of the wildfire disaster in Northern California escalated as officials raised the death toll to 71 and released a missing-persons list with 1,011 names on it more than a week after the flames swept through.The fast-growing roster of people unaccounted for probably includes some who fled the blaze and do not realize they have been reported missing, Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea said late Thursday.He said he made the list public in the hope that people will see they are on it and let authorities know they are OK."The chaos that we were dealing with was extraordinary," Honea said of the crisis last week, when the flames razed the town of Paradise and outlying areas in what has proved to be the nation's deadliest wildfire in a century. "Now we're trying to go back out and make sure that we're accounting for everyone."Firefighters continued gaining ground against the 222-square mile (575-square-kilometer) blaze, which was reported 50 percent contained Friday night. (KGTV) — New businesses are set to call the Otay Ranch Town Center home in the coming months. Just a few months ago, the mall had more than a dozen empty storefronts and employees at the mall called it a ghost town. The new businesses moving in include Novo Brazil Brewing, Planet Fitness, and Barons Market.LONGFORM: Vacant storefronts reflect mall struggles at Otay Ranch Town CenterBrookfield Property Partners took over full ownership of the mall six weeks ago. It was a part of a larger merger across the country. The mall's general manager, Steven Sayers, sat down with 10News."Nothing was going wrong with the property at all. It was just, some of it was just timing with expiring leases and unfortunately, some tenants just left," says Sayers.Sayers says these new businesses were already in the works before the merger. (KGTV) - An afternoon drive on the I-805 was interrupted by an explosion of glass, and a very close call.Just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jennifer Opdahl was northbound in the slow lane, and traffic was flowing. As she drove under the East Palomar Street overpass, she heard a close 'boom.' She didn't see anything flying at her, but she felt something."Kind of an explosion. Just heard glass splintering. It clearly came from my above my head. I think I ducked and screamed, but I was still driving," said Opdahl.When she later got out, she could barely believe what she was seeing: the sunroof on her Volkswagen Golf was shattered. Under the glass is a panel which slides back and forth. Whatever struck likely bounced off. Opdahl is thankful the sunroof wasn't open. The roof is inches from where her head was. "I dodged a bullet. I very easily could be dead right now," said Opdahl.Ophdal believes that bullet was a something heavy tossed from the overpass.
