PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A Pasco, Fla. woman was arrested after deputies say she was passed out drunk at the wheel of a parked car with a 5-year-old child in the back seat.20-year-old Sarah Nisse was found after the girl answered a phone call from her father.He called the 5-year-old via FaceTime and was able to see where the vehicle was parked.He found the car at 2509 Success Dr. and immediately removed his daughter from the vehicle and called 911.Fire rescue arrived and tried to administer aid to Nisse. She didn't say anything but raised a middle finger at them. When deputies arrived, Nisse appeared to be 'heavily intoxicated' and was taken to the Medical Center of Trinity.She blew a .276 and .272 three hours after the incident.Deputies say that without proper supervision, the 5-year-old was at risk of possible injury or death due to a large pond being next to where the car was parked, as well as due to the fact that Nisse was driving while under the influence.She was arrested for child neglect, violation of probation and DUI. She was on probation for willful child neglect in reference to a case in 2015 where she had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old juvenile. 1187

Laird officially became 'Mom' to the last of the crew, little Scotland, 11 months old."It's just very peaceful to know that no one is going to come and take her," said Laird.Scotland was the last of the five biological sisters to be formally adopted by Laird, though she went to live with Laird in January at just 12 days old. The adoption ceremony took place on Saturday, November 17 at Durango Juvenile Court Center as part of National Adoption Day. With food and entertainment, it was an all-out celebration in Phoenix, and a fun time for kids who have had a rough start in life.The pomp and circumstance may feel contradictory because the underlying issue is a national crisis. According to statistics from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, there are more than 400,000 kids in foster care across the country. PAUMA VALLEY (CNS) - Authorities Saturday identified a man suspected of ambushing three sheriff's deputies at his home in a rural area near Casino Pauma and sparking an hours-long standoff late Thursday.Jose Nieto, a 28-year-old Pauma Valley man, was arrested for three counts of attempted murder of a peace officer and three counts of assault of a peace officer with a firearm, San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. Rich Williams said.Nieto was being held without bail, under guard at a local hospital while being treated for a gunshot wound he sustained during the standoff, and was expected to be arraigned this week.RELATED: Deputies shot at while responding to call in Pauma ValleyThe standoff began around 4:15 p.m. Thursday when deputies responded to a home in the 15600 block of Adams Drive in Pauma Valley after receiving a 911 call from a man who said he "needed help and didn't feel safe in his home." As three deputies approached the front door of the home, they were met with gunfire, Williams said.The deputies returned fire, established a perimeter around the home and called for backup, including a SWAT team.Nearby residents were evacuated from their homes and surrounding streets were shut down.Authorities spent hours trying to establish communication with the gunman, but when that was unsuccessful, the SWAT team entered the home and found the suspect inside with an apparent gunshot wound to his lower body, Williams said. (AP) — Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea says his department has reports of 110 people still missing in a massive Northern California wildfire that has scorched 164 square miles.Honea says he's hopeful that more of those missing people will be located.
