CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) -- The woman killed in a Carlsbad jet ski crash in August has been identified. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner, 39-year-old Tanisha Prince was killed in the crash. Carlsbad Police say the crash happened just before 4 p.m. on August 18 at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon off the 4200 block of Harrison Street. CHICAGO, Ill. – The City of Chicago will soon implement under another stay-at-home advisory as it seeks to slow the spread of the coronavirus.The city’s mayor, Lori Lightfoot, announced Thursday that the advisory will go into effect on Monday, Nov. 16 at 6 a.m.Lightfoot says the advisory will call on the people of Chicago to stay at home unless for essential reasons, stop having guests over – including relatives they don’t live with, avoid non-essential travel, and cancel “traditional” Thanksgiving plans."Residents are advised to only leave home to go to work or school, or for essential needs such as seeking medical care, going to the grocery store or pharmacy, picking up food, or receiving deliveries," the city wrote.The city says the advisory will remain in place for 30 days or until the commissioner of health, Dr. Allison Arwady, determines a change in the guidance is appropriate.The new advisory comes as the city and many parts of the country experience the highest coronavirus case rates since the pandemic began. CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. -- There were no survivors from a plane crash Thursday night in Carroll County, according to Indiana State Police. The Cessna 441 went down around 7:30 p.m. local time in a field near Carroll County Roads 500 West and 600 South, just north of Rossville.The plane took off from Eagle Creek Airport in Indianapolis at 7:21 p.m., according to flight records. It was headed to Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay, Wisconsin.At 7:39 p.m., data shows that the plane was between 18,000 feet and 28,000 feet when it disappeared off radar, sources told Scripps station WRTV in Indianapolis. Shortly after, multiple people called 911 in Carroll County, reporting a plane down. People who live in the area who heard the crash say it sounded like thunder.First responders had trouble finding the wreckage at first because it was so dark and far back in a field. They eventually used ATVs and other off-road vehicles to access the area. WRTV learned that there were at least three people on board.There is no word on what caused the plane to go down. Officials with the FAA and NTSB are expected to arrive on the scene Friday morning to begin their investigation.  1275

CAMPO (CNS) - Investigators sought Friday to determine what caused a solo car crash that killed an 84-year-old motorist on a rural road east of Lake Morena.The Boulevard man was headed south on a curving stretch of Buckman Springs Road in the Campo area when his 2000 Toyota Camry veered off the east side of the roadway near Oak Drive about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.The vehicle hit a tree and overturned, ejecting the driver through the front passenger-side window, CHP public-affairs Officer Travis Garrow said.The motorist, whose name was withheld pending family notification, died at the scene.Intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the crash, Garrow said. 722

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - This week, we've heard promises surrounding treatment and vaccines related to COVID-19.Now, doctors at the University of North Carolina (UNC) are using next-generation genetic sequencing of the virus causing COVID-19 that can help testing and therapeutics.Dr. Dirk Dittmer, professor of microbiology and immunology at the UNC School of Medicine, has kept a close eye on COVID-19.“We know now more about this virus than any other virus before,” Dittmer told News 3. “The team has been working 24/7 ever since we had the first cases in March.”He and others are looking at how next-generation genetic sequencing can help with tracking mutations of the virus.“What we were looking at using next-generation technology is if the virus changes, who is the first person that had the virus in North Carolina? And, as we accumulated more and more cases, were these the same types of viruses we're seeing anywhere else in the world,” Dittmer said. “Very early on, we were able to show that one of the mutations that have been around in Europe was actually coming to the U.S.”The state-funded study shows this sequencing can help with the accuracy of diagnostic testing and vaccine effectiveness.“We wanted to make sure that the tests that were developed very early on would still work now and next year.
