SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — FBI investigators are searching for a man they say robbed two Wells Fargo locations over the last two months.The man entered the Wells Fargo at 5522 Balboa Ave. just after 5 p.m. on Sept. 11 and handed the teller a note demanding money, according to FBI investigators. The man then left the bank on foot in an unknown direction.Investigators believe the same man also robbed another Wells Fargo location at 276 N. El Camino Real in Encinitas just after 3 p.m. on Oct. 6. He made the same demand via note and left.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodIn both instances, he received an unknown amount of cash.The man is described as white, in his 50s or 60s, standing about 6-foot-2-inches, and with gray hair. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- From Teddy Bears to cereal boxes, the TSA gave an exclusive look at the alarming items used to conceal explosives at the airport. 4.1 million travelers are expected to travel in and out of San Diego this summer, making it busier than ever. “It may seem like a pain on some travel days taking off your shoes dropping them in a bin and separating a laptop in another but it could be saving your life.”If you’ve traveled through an airport, you’re no stranger to the TSA checkpoint. “Our officers need a clear view of the electronic itself making sure circuitry, the electronics inside of it haven’t been tampered with.”It’s not just electronics, but stuffed animals are also used to disguise explosives. “Because they think that our officers would be disarmed because it’s a child item.”From coffee beans to baby formula and peanut butter, TSA has seen it all. “We’re in no way saying every passenger is bringing these types of items but it only takes one and we really need to get it right every single time.” 1036

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - For months San Diego bee removal companies have been swarmed with calls to remove hives, but where is best to relocate them?One Encinitas company has a solution, hooking up property owners who want bees with beekeepers."When your house gets invaded by bees, instead of spraying them with poison we take them out alive and chemical-free and find good homes for them," said James Mcdonald, founder of the Encinitas Bee Company.Mcdonald will relocate hives to homes or businesses interested in hosting a hive; then a local beekeeper will tend to them."Hundreds of potential beekeepers living in apartments would love to keep bees, but they have no land," said Mcdonald. The Host a Hive program is free for property owners, and they get to keep any honey produced. Mcdonald said he shared a post on Nextdoor about the program and was flooded with messages from people wanting to host a hive. He currently has several bee hives at home that he'd like to relocate. "I'm bursting at the seam and really need people and beekeepers that are willing to help me," said Mcdonald. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Dozens of workers are racing to finish construction of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park's newest exhibit, "Walkabout Australia".It is scheduled to open to the public Friday, May 25. Monday, 10News was the first station invited for a behind-the-scenes tour. The various habitats are meant to reflect the deserts, plains, and rainforests of Australia.But the heart of the exhibit is a large open area in which 20 kangaroos and wallaby will be able to roam free with Safari Park guests."I think that the public will feel like there's virtually no barriers almost on the walkway going up and when they get inside. They're just going to have so much fun," said San Diego Zoo architect Robyn Badger.Zookeepers have been working with the animals before the exhibit opens, getting them comfortable with their new habitat and with being around humans.The kangaroos and wallaby are likely to approach guests on the path. If it happens, guests are asked to stay calm and avoid harassing the animals.While people are not encouraged to reach out to touch the animals first, if the animals make contact, it is okay to gently pet them."If you're calm and you're respectful of those animals, they're absolutely going to want to come and see what you're up to," said Animal Care Manager Steve Metzler.Other animals at Walkabout Australia include tree kangaroos, magpie geese, and cassowary. 1398
