Pipe bomb suspect Cesar Sayoc made his first appearance in a New York federal court Tuesday and was told he will be held without bond.The defense issued no objection to Judge Robert Lehrburger's decision. Arpaio on Friday lost the Republican primary to his former top aide, Jerry Sheridan. Sheridan will face the Democrat who previously defeated Arpaio, Paul Penzone, in the November general election. Arpaio also ran an unsuccessful U.S. Senate campaign in 2018, not long after President Donald Trump pardoned his criminal conviction for disobeying a judge’s order. PHOENIX - Kyrsten Sinema has defeated Martha McSally in the highly contested race for an Arizona Senate seat, per the Associated Press. This comes after several days of ballot counting and controversy over rural county results.Sinema (D) defeated McSally (R) for the seat previously held by Senator Jeff Flake, who chose not to run again in this election.On Friday, Republican and Democrat leaders agreed to give rural counties a second chance to fix ballot issues with voters. GOP leaders hoped the move would help Republicans gain votes for McSally in the race, but Sinema's lead was eventually too wide to recover from.  With this win, Sinema will be named the first female U.S. Senator from the state of Arizona.Democrats are projected to have at least 47 Senate seats at the start of the new Congress in 2019. Republicans have clinched 51 seats, with Republican Rick Scott holding a narrow lead in Florida's US Senate race. Our cars remain grounded, and we're assisting local, state and federal authorities in any way we can.”As a result of the crash, the National Transportation and Safety Board is investigating. Uber also announced the suspension of its testing on self-driving vehicles in Arizona, as well as other cities.Authorities said the vehicle was in autonomous mode at the time of the crash. Participating in a town hall discussion on Monday in the key battleground state of Florida, Joe Biden said he would implement a mandate of masks on federal property if elected president amid the coronavirus pandemic. The mandate would apply to places such as national buildings, Social Security offices and federal courthouses. Biden’s remarks stood in stark contrast with President Donald Trump, who made a point to remove his mask when he entered the White House on Monday after returning from the hospital. Trump is currently recovering from the coronavirus at the White House after a three-day stay at Walter Reed Medical Center.The primetime town hall featuring the former vice president was aired on NBC.Biden conceded that the president does not have the power to call for a nationwide mask mandate in all 50 states, but he would use the bully pulpit of the presidency to compel state and local leaders to enforce mask wearing in public spaces.“I would go out and I would call all of the governors to the White House, some probably wouldn’t come, and I would say… ‘take responsibility,’” Biden said. “Take responsibility and lay out the guidelines. One of the problems is this president said ‘I take no responsibility.’ Literally.“'It is not my responsibility.’ So if it is not his responsibility, he talked about this being like a time of war, we are under attack.
