RANCHO BERNARDO, Calif. (KGTV) - More schools are equipping themselves with "lock-down lavatories" amid a rise in school threats posted on social media. At Rancho Bernardo High School, graduate Dallin Dunn felt the pain and embarrassment of using a make-shift bathroom during a lock-down in May of 2017. Two posts on Snapchat put the school on lock-down for hours, forcing his group in the library to take desperate measures."With the stress of testing and the lock-down it was just so much that people had to use the restroom and those trash cans had to be used," Dunn said."Twenty years ago you'd never think you would need some way to create an immediate restroom for students to be able to use," Principal David LaMaster said.Dunn was inspired to create a solution, and changed his Eagle Scout Project last minute focused on his peers."We had actually looked at products to purchase but realizing there's a cost to that, we didn't know how exactly we were going to cover that," LaMaster said.Dunn said he had huge support from the start from the community and school, saying the PTSA footed the bill, "I actually got a grant for ,000 and we used about 0 of that."Dunn coordinated an effort, assembly-line style, creating 102 lock-down lavatories so each room was stocked. He pulled out a foam ring, made of pipe insulation and covered with plastic. The ring cut lengthwise to easily attach to the rim of the bucket, providing a seat. "So you just wrap it around the rim and it's able to collapse into the bucket," he said. It also includes, "gloves for you know obviously cleaning up, some extra sleeves so you can reuse this, throw that away and reuse it again, some instructions and some extra bags," toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The solution becoming more common, in 2015 San Diego Unified School District added 6,000 lock-down lavatories to their campuses."I do know that other school districts are having outside vendors donate or they're buying resources and things like that so I feel like we're well ahead of the curve," LaMaster said. The lavatories were places throughout campus midway through the 2018-2019 school year, ready for students in the future, while all hope the need never arises.LaMaster said in his seven years as a principal he's only experience one lock-down scenario. 2311

President Donald Trump's son Donald Trump Jr.'s wife Vanessa Trump has filed for an uncontested divorce. The couple first married in 2005 and have five kids together. "After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways," a joint statement from the Trumps said. "We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time."The New York Post's Page Six was first to report on the divorce. According to Page Six's sources, Trump Jr.'s hectic travel schedule running The Trump Organization has worn on the couple. “Don Jr. has been busy traveling, which has contributed to their problems. Vanessa is a devoted mother, but she is increasingly lonely and alone in the house with the children," a Page Six source said. In February, an envelope that contained a white powder was sent to Trump Jr. and his wife. The threatening envelope turned out to be a hoax.  1047

Protests in response to the death of Stephon Clark, a 22-year-old who was shot and killed by Sacramento Police on Sunday after officers confused his cellphone for a gun, caused major disruptions in Sacramento on Thursday. Most fans were unable to enter the Sacramento Kings' NBA match against the Atlanta Hawks despite a delay in the game. Protesters locked arms around the arena's gates, prohibiting fans from reaching the doors. As the game tipped off Thursday evening, only the first few rows of seats were full in the arena that seats nearly 20,000 fans. "Tonight's game began with a delay," the Kings said in a statement. "Due to law enforcement being unable to ensure ticketed fans could safely enter the arena, the arena remains closed and we ask fans outside to travel home. We will issue further information soon regarding a refund."Some fans left the area outside the arena disappointed. "I"m very disappointed," Fermin Rodriguez told the Sacramento Bee, as he was planning on seeing the game with his wife and four children. "I mean I feel their pain, but why do we have to suffer as well? We paid a lot of money for these tickets. I hope they give us a refund."Protesters also disrupted rush hour traffic earlier in the evening by standing in the middle of Interstate 5 before police cleared the hundreds of protesters off the freeway. Captain Norm Leong of the Sacramento Police Department confirmed on Twitter late Thursday that no one has been arrested in connection to Thursday's demonstration. The protests were sparked hours after Sacramento Police released helicopter and bodycam video of Sunday's incident. It showed Clark running through several yards before being confronted behind his grandmother's door. In the video, police could be heard telling him to put his hands up. Within seconds, officers fired 20 rounds at Clark, killing him. "Prior to the shooting, the involved officers saw the suspect facing them, advance forward with his arms extended, and holding an object in his hands," Sacramento Police said in a statement. "At the time of the shooting, the officers believed the suspect was pointing a firearm at them. After an exhaustive search, scene investigators did not locate any firearms. The only item found near the suspect was a cell phone."Police were originally called to the scene over someone breaking into cars.  2434

President-elect Joe Biden is slated to deliver remarks in defense of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on Tuesday — the same day the Supreme Court is slated to hear arguments in a case that could effectively strike down the law.Biden, who was serving as Vice President in the Obama Administration when the landmark legislation passed in 2010, has promised to build upon and improve the public health care system set up by the ACA.Biden faces an uphill battle in enacting legislation on the Senate, where Democrats must win two runoff races in Georgia in January in order to control the chamber. But because Republicans rushed to confirm Justice Amy Coney Barrett to the high court prior to the election, conservatives now hold a 6-3 advantage — and there's a chance the ACA may not even survive long enough for Biden to make changes to the law.The case, brought by several conservative states and the Trump administration, asserts that one of the law's most controversial items — the individual mandate — is unconstitutional. The individual mandate required all Americans to be covered by insurance or pay a penalty tax. In 2019, Trump signed a law that removed the individual mandate, allowing conservative states like Texas, to set the penalty rate to <云转化_句子>. Those states now argue that because the individual mandate is not raising revenue, it makes the law unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling on the case early in early summer.Biden's remarks on Tuesday come a day after he met with his newly-appointed COVID-19 advisory board — a group that will provide guidance to Biden's transition team about the pandemic. During his address on Monday, Biden stressed that the U.S. will face "a very dark winter," but added there are steps everyone can take to slow the spread of the virus."I implore you, wear a mask. A mask is not a political statement," Biden said.Biden's remarks about the Affordable Care Act are scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. ET. 1975
