SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal hit-and-run Sunday in Sherman Heights, San Diego Police have confirmed to 10News.On Sunday, a silver SUV was traveling eastbound in the 1800 block of Market Street at about 2 a.m. when the vehicle hit a pedestrian. Family members have identified the victim as 41-year-old Jason Gordon.It's still not clear if Gordon was standing in the street or crossing lanes, police said. The driver fled the scene after fatally hitting the man.Police Tuesday released photos of the man they believed to be the suspect of the crash visiting Humberto’s Taco Shop on the corner of Broadway and 25th Street, where he ordered food. The cashier who took the man's order said it appeared that the man had been drinking that night.RELATED: Pedestrian struck, killed by hit-and-run motorist in San DiegoPolice say the photos from the taco shop and photos from Smart Street Lights near the crash scene led them to the home of 28-year-old Christopher Nunez, where they also located the suspected vehicle, a 2008 GMC Envoy. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego man with Down syndrome met the man who saved his life by donating a kidney for the first time Wednesday. James Wellman met his donor, Paul Williams, for the first time after having his life-saving surgery.Wellman was diagnosed with Down syndrome when he was born, and in 2017 his kidneys were functioning at only 12 percent.His family grew concerned after he was rejected for a transplant by several programs in Southern California. 477

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman struck by a hit-and-run driver on a Logan Heights street suffered life-threatening injuries Friday, San Diego Police said. The crash happened about 11 a.m. in the 700 block of Cesar Chavez Parkway at Kearney Avenue. A white Ford F-150 pickup truck was driving west and struck a woman also heading west on the north sidewalk, police said. The truck made a right turn onto Kearney Avenue and struck the woman. The driver did not stop to help the woman and continued north on Kearney Avenue, according to investigators. The 52-year-old victim suffered major head trauma. Police said the truck had a tinted back window and a white California sticker. Anyone with information can call the San Diego Police Department. 747

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A suspicious package discovered at Naval Air Station North Island forced military investigators to close the base's Main Gate on Monday morning.The closure at base, located on the northside of the Coronado peninsula, created major delays along the Coronado Bridge and into the base."North Island Naval Air Station main gate has been closed, expect delays in the area," the Coronado Police Department tweeted.Officials kept the remaining two gates at the base were left open during the investigation. The Main Gate was reopened just before 9:30 a.m.Details about the package were not available at this time.NAS North Island is the home port of several aircraft carriers of the United States Navy.The incident comes as San Diego County military bases began bolstering security measures amid rising tensions in the Middle East and threats of retaliation against the U.S. after an American drone killed a top Iranian general.Officials have warned that military law enforcement will be checking all identification cards and increasing vehicle inspections prompting entry gate delays."Due to these security measures, travelers will experience longer wait times entering installation," Camp Pendleton officials said on Twitter Monday. 1255
