SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of a YouTube star who drove his McLaren the wrong way on the 805 last year, killing a mom and her daughter, are suing the City of San Diego, County of San Diego, and the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT).The lawsuit claims the “horrific and tragic event” was entirely preventable.Eighteen-year-old Trevor Heitmann, known as McSkillet, drove his McLaren the wrong way on the freeway in August 2018, killing Aileen Pizarro and her 12-year-old daughter Aryana. The sports car collided with the family's SUV, which burst into flames.RELATED: Autopsy details mental state of McSkillet before deadly crash on Interstate 805 in San DiegoIn the lawsuit Heitmann's family claims "SDPD was warned by Plaintiff's on the day of, but before his death, that Trevor intended to drive his McLaren at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction on a public roadway, under the delusion that he (Trevor) could drive through vehicles traveling in the opposite direction without incident."Worried about their sons' dangerous intentions and fearing for his well-being, as well as the safety of others, Dr. Mary Rusher, a board-certified psychiatrist, called 911 and made a 5150 request for a psychiatric hold, the lawsuit alleges.The lawsuit claims, "Defendants' purported PERT response team conducted either or both no assessment or the wrong assessment of the mental health status of Plaintiffs' son Trevor, pursuant to and under California Welfare and Institutions Code 5150."RELATED: YouTuber's parents requested psychiatric evaluation before deadly I-805 crashIt alleges, defendants also failed and refused requests to take Heitmann into protective detention to transport him to a designated evaluation and treatment facility."As a consequence, and despite Plaintiffs' attempts to ensure their son's safety and the safety of others by blocking the driveway of their residents, Trevor later that day left his residence and drive the McLaren to the Interstate 805 Freeway where he was killed in the beforementioned collision, which also tragically took the lives of the Pizarros."A spokesman for the County of San Diego told 10News they couldn't comment.RELATED: Son remembers mother and sister after release of driver's autopsy in deadly 805 crashAs of this writing, officials with the City of San Diego and PERT have not responded to 10News requests for comment.This is the third lawsuit filed regarding the 2018 crash. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) made changes making it easier for businesses to sell alcohol.This week, the agency made major changes allowing restaurants to sell beer, wine and pre-mixed drinks or cocktails for pick-up or delivery as long as it is sold with food and has a secured top.While the changes will help many business owners, some San Diego bar owners say the ABC needs to take a look at other parts of the law as well."I know my seven employees are hurting, and I am too," said Tony Raso of Bar Sin Nombre.Raso said when the statewide order came down to close, he did. He has bar food he can sell, but where his problem comes in is with the beer that's already on tap."My struggle has been with all of the draft beer," he said. "We're primarily a draft house, and most of my money is in draft inventory."According to the ABC's website, restaurants "selling beer, wine, and pre-mixed drinks or cocktails for consumption off the licensed premises may do so when sold in conjunction with meals prepared for pick-up or delivery. Any such alcoholic beverages must be packaged in a container with a secure lid or cap and in a manner designed to prevent consumption without removal of the lid or cap."Raso said while he appreciates the relaxed restrictions, he's still sitting on at least ,000 in kegs he can't sell."Allow us to repackage the beer from the taps," Raso said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of a California Firefighter is hoping for his safe return after authorities in Mexico arrested two people linked to the case.Authorities announced on Friday that they had arrested a couple linked to the case. The couple has been identified as 32-year-old Fanny N. and 27-year-old Santos N.They say the couple had bank cards with Aguilar's name on them, and the cards were used at businesses in Ensenada, Rosarito, and Tijuana. The arrest was made Thursday.Aguilar disappeared in August when we went to his second home in Baja California.According to Mexican authorities, Aguilar had arranged to meet with one of the suspects at a Rosarito address. They believe it could have been a set up to kidnap him. Aguilar tried to escape.Authorities say neighbors heard gunshots and investigators found bloodstains in the area, but they have not been able to locate Aguilar.Aguilar's cousin in San Diego county, Nancy, says she is hopeful that her cousin will be found."I have faith that he's out there alive, and we are going to find him," she said.Authorities are questioning the suspects for leads. 1129

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The FBI’s Violent Task Crimes Force asked for the public’s help Monday to find a man known as the “Burgundy Bandit” and wanted for nine robberies in San Diego, La Mesa, and El Cajon.In each robbery, the man entered the business and approached an employee, flashing a gun hidden in his waistband, the FBI said in a news release.The man demanded money and walked away. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Students have been released from school following reports of shots fired in the area around Kearny Senior High School Wednesday afternoon. According to San Diego Police, officers were alerted to the reports around 2:20 p.m. So far, no one has been taken into custody and police are still searching for a scene. Mesa College Drive is also closed from Ashford to Armory while police search the area. Kearny Senior High School is located on the 1900 block of Komet Way near San Diego Mesa College. 523
