UPDATE (3 p.m. ET): Kentucky police are looking for a driver that hit two brothers crossing a busy intersection to get to their bus stop, authorities say.The 11-year-old and 13-year-old were struck at around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in Louisville, Kentucky.It was at least the sixth time in three days that children were hurt or worse at a bus stop. VERO BEACH, Fla. -- For Crystal Smith, the midday heat in Florida isn't her biggest challenge. Living in a shelter, the single mom is trying to get back on her feet.She was one of the first people working at the "Dignity Food Truck" in Vero Beach."I've just been making food, certain dishes, just learning. (The organizers) give you on the job training and actually give you a job," said Smith.Set up by the Source, a Christian Ministry outreach in Vero Beach, it is a new program for the homeless and unemployed."What our students lack is real-time training in front of real customers. That's what Dignity Food Truck gives them. It gives them real exposure in real-time, made-to-order food," said Anthony Zorbaugh, the executive director of the Source.Chef Henry Restrepo said this is his most important mission in two decades of cooking."We train them for the culinary so they can get their life back," said Restrepo.Money raised goes back into the program.The truck was made possible by a 0,000 grant from the philanthropic group Impact 100."We love the mission. We love the project itself. It fulfills a multitude of needs," said Kristin Rohr with Impact 100.It fills an immediate need for Smith while giving her hope for the future."I would like my own business eventually," said Smith.The Food Truck will be parked at Tropical Scooters along U.S. 1 in Vero Beach on Mondays and Tuesdays.It will be at United Against Poverty Wednesdays and Route 60 Hyundai on Fridays. Update, Aug. 8, 10:15 a.m. The victim's fiancee notified 10News of his death Wednesday night, saying "Steven Johnson went on to be a hero to save other lives."LAKESIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - Loved ones are making a gut-wrenching plea for tips after a hit-and-run crash that left a man on life support, days before his wedding day."I don't know what to do without him," said Sami Johnson, the daughter of Steven Johnson"I'm heartbroken. He was my everything," said Karlene Moen, Johnson's fiancee.Johnson - a father of six and a grandfather - was riding his motorcycle to work at a Lakeside trucking company Friday when he crashed around 5:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 67 just past Willows Road. His first call was to his fiancee."He sounded hurt. He sounded scared, and he was pissed off," said Moen.He posted photos of his injured leg on Facebook. He told Moen a woman in a car cut him off, causing him to crash."He said, 'We locked eyes. She knows I was there ... She just left me and left me laying in the road,'" said Moen. Soon after the accident, he developed chest pains. He was rushed into surgery with a torn aorta. On Sunday morning, Johnson went into cardiac arrest. He was revived but suffered severe brain damage. He was placed on life support. Moen says the he will be taken off life support in the coming days, and his organs will be donated.His wedding planned for Saturday will now be a 'Celebration of Life' service."He'll never see me in my wedding dress that I bought especially for him," said a tearful Moen.She's hoping the driver that caused the crash will be identified.We just want justice. We want her to know she killed him and left him there," said Moen."Who could leave my dad in the road? There is no word on her condition.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Fire-Rescue crews are responding to the USS Midway Museum on San Diego Bay to rescue a woman.The 50-year-old visitor was in an area above the upper deck accessible only by ladders when she started feeling faint, officials said.Firefighters did not provide details the cause of her condition.The USS Midway Museum website indicates the visit can involve ‘a lot of walking an navigating ladders’. Twitter is about to get more words -- a lot more.The company announced on Tuesday it is doubling how many characters users can cram into a tweet.Most tweets will now fit 280 characters, up from 140. The new limit will roll out to Twitter users in almost all 40 languages Twitter supports.In late September, Twitter began a test of 280-character tweets with a small group of users.Like many Twitter changes, some users complained about the move.Interestingly, Twitter said that after the novelty of tweeting more characters wore off, most people in the test stopped tweeting the full length.According to the company, only 5% of tweets sent from people in the 280-character test group were longer than 140 characters, and just 2% were over 190 characters.The new character length won't apply to Japanese, Korean or Chinese-language tweets. Those languages can convey twice as much information in less space, so tweets will remain at 140 characters, Twitter said.Of course, the change means America's highest-profile Twitter user, President Trump, will have more space. Twitter cofounder Biz Stone had said the prolific Twitter user was not in the test group.The move modifies a fundamental aspect of Twitter. Aside from the test, the social network's character limit hasn't changed since the company launched in 2006.The 140-character length wasn't a random choice: Twitter's founders wanted tweets to fit in a text message, which can only hold 160 characters. So Twitter chose 140 characters for the tweet, and 20 characters for the user name.During the 280-character test, some users argued Twitter should focus less on the length of the tweets and more on the content.
