SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A priest in the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego was suspended Tuesday as church officials investigate allegations of sexual misconduct with a girl in the 1990s.Father Justin Langille, 65, initially faced the claim in the mid-1990s for an act which allegedly occurred with a female teenager earlier in the decade, according to a news release from the diocese.The case was examined in 1995 and 2002, but the diocese concluded that the allegation was unsubstantiated after Langille passed a polygraph test, church officials said.Last month, the case was brought before the diocese’s Independent Review Board as part of its process to review files about the sexual abuse of minors by clergy.“I felt strongly that even older, previously decided cases involving currently serving priests would benefit from being examined by the Independent Review Board,” said Bp. McElroy. “The voice of the laity needs to be heard on these matters and the independent board, with members that include attorneys, criminal investigators, psychologists and a clergy abuse victim, provides the diocese with exceptionally valuable guidance and expertise.”An investigator revealed significant new information that substantially undermined the credibility of Langille’s denials, the diocese said. Church officials did not provide details about the information.The diocese spokesperson did not have information about whether San Diego Police had been contacted.If the Independent Review Board determines the accusation is not credible, Langille may be returned to ministry, according to the diocese.Langille has not had a full-time assignment in the diocese since 2013, officials said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A lawsuit has now been filed surrounding the platform collapse that injured 21 children and some adults last November at Vault PK parkour gym inside a Barrio Logan warehouse.Two mothers and six children are represented in the complaint, filed against Vault PK and San Diego's Metropolitan Transportation System (MTS), among other defendants.MTS owned the warehouse and subleased the space to a business that subleased again to Vault PK. A few days after the collapse, MTS was hit with a dozen building code violations.Some of the families are suing MTS and Vault PK for negligence, among other complaints.MTS told 10News it won't comment on pending litigation.  713

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A local family is remembering their mother who died suddenly after suffering a brain aneurysm.Monica Pimentel, 43, collapsed at her home on May 17. She died the next day at the hospital with her family by her side. Monica was born and raised in San Diego. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School and was deeply involved in the San Carlos community. She was the mother of four children.This is the second time tragedy has struck the Pimentel family. In 2014, one of their daughters, Jewelean Pimentel, died from bacterial meningitis. Jewelean was a freshman at Patrick Henry and was also a cheerleader for the school. The family's father is devastated after suffering two heartbreaking losses. He is now taking care of the remaining three children. He and Monica had been married for 20 years. The Pimentel family released the following statement after Monica's death: 924

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A neighbor says San Diego Police were called to the home of Trevor Heitmann the morning of the deadly freeway crash.According to the CHP, the 18-year-old was in his McLaren sports car when he drove south in the northbound lanes of the 805 freeway near Sorrento Valley Thursday just before 5 p.m. He collided head on with an SUV. Both cars burst into flames.Aileen Pizarro and her 12-year-old daughter Aryana were killed instantly.Heitmann also died. Heitmann's McLaren sportscar was in the garage and the door was open."Now it makes sense. Shortly after, she said she saw a CHP officer talking to Heitmann's dad.She says that's when she learned from the boy's father that the family had been worried about the 18-year-old's behavior."He told me five days earlier, that Trevor had just snapped, that was the word he used. This was him going back to the context of saying he had just snapped. These people were obviously very concerned to the degree that they called the police, especially in the face, they are very private people," she said.Clinical Psychologist Michelle Marie Carcel said forcing a kid who is over 18 to get psychiatric help can be complicated. She said parents need to be clear when calling 911 that they think their child is a danger to themselves or others."The most important thing is to really stress that in the call. I am concerned that my child is going to hurt themselves or hurt someone else, that kind of urgency really triggers that response from the officers," said Carcel.We don't know the circumstances of the call that day or if officers had contact with the 18-year-old. 4059
