And all AMC Stubs members will earn double points on all ticket and food & drink purchases through the end of October."AMC says a new health and sanitation program will be in effect at all of its reopened theaters. The "Safe & Clean" initiative includes reduction in ticket sales and blocked seating for social distancing purposes, extra time between showings for thorough cleaning, hand sanitizing stations around the facility, and mask requirements for moviegoers and theater staff. The world's largest movie theater company reopened more than 100 theaters in August after being closed for five months due to the coronavirus pandemic.News of the openings comes as Christopher Nolan's newest movie "Tenet" makes its theatrical debut in the U.S. It's one of the first big movies to hit theaters since the pandemic struck. To see if an AMC theater in your area is open, click here.In addition to AMC theaters, Reading Cinema locations in San Diego area also reopening. The two locations -- La Mesa (5500 Grossmont Center Dr.) and San Diego (4665 Clairemont Dr.) -- opened their respective doors on Thursday. The theaters have their own health and safety protocols in place, including social distancing, 25 percent capacity, and extra cleaning between showings.Additionally, Reading will not allow cash, and anyone with cash will be asked to purchase a gift card at the box office."We're just really excited to be able to pull the trigger and open the doors,” said Reading Cinemas Director of Food and Beverage Ken Gillich. "We're really trying to minimize the amount of touch points that anybody needs to have, but hopefully once you get into the auditorium, you can sit down and get back to enjoying the movies."Thanks to the reopenings, Reading Cinemas in San Diego was able to rehire about 40 percent of their workforce.Gillich added, "It's the cheapest form of therapy you can get. It's one of the only places where for 10-15 bucks you can turn off your phone, you're expected to turn off your phone and disappear from the world for 2 hours, 2 1/2 hours. And we're just really, really, really pleased to be able to provide that experience, once again, for the community." 2916

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Southern California athlete said his life was changed forever from a stem cell product he said came from a San Diego company. “It’s been tough. And it’s still tough,” said Alex Reyes. Team 10 interviewed Reyes at a San Bernardino park, where he took a few moments to play with his young children. Those are the moments he treasures because last year, even holding his kids was something he could not do. “I couldn’t walk for about three and a half to four weeks. I was on a bedpan. It was one of the hardest things I had to go through in my life,” Reyes said. This is coming from a man used to taking punches. He has several accomplishments in mixed martial arts, including King of the Cage Junior Welterweight and Lightweight Champion, as well as the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Absolute Purple Belt Champion. Reyes was signed to the UFC back in September of 2017 to compete in the Lightweight Division. In the UFC, he was known as the Executioner. “It was just the beginning for me,” Reyes said.He started doing stem cell injections last year to help with an old back injury. “It was kind of nagging,” he told Team 10.The first one he tried went well. “It helps regenerate the tissue… there was improvement, and I felt better,” he said. The second time, Reyes said he went to a different clinic in Las Vegas in June 2018. According to his lawsuit, the product used was from the ReGen Series?, developed and manufactured by Genetech. Genetech is not related to the biotechnology company Genentech.“After I got the injection a few days later, I couldn’t walk anymore, I couldn’t stand I couldn’t sit, I couldn’t move. It was really bad,” Reyes said. The lawsuit states patients from all over the country used the Genetech stem cell products from the ReGen Series?, but there were problems. The court documents show Health Departments in Texas and Florida received notification of bacteria in patients who received those injections. Genetech, which used to operate at a building on Bunker Hill Street on the edge of Pacific Beach, is now closed. However, federal regulators are currently looking into the company’s operations. A letter issued late last year by the Federal Drug Administration warned Genetech about several violations with “potential serious risks to patients.” The FDA and Centers for Disease Control are aware of at least 12 patients who received Genetech products. According to the FDA warning issued in late 2018, the federal agencies “have received numerous reports of safety issues including those involving microbial contamination… and subsequently became ill due to blood and other infections caused by bacteria, including Escherichia coli (E. coli).”“I was really terrified,” said Alex’s wife, Rosalie Reyes. “I didn’t know what to think. Is he dying? Am I losing my husband?”In September, the distributor Liveyon suspended shipment of its product and then voluntarily recalled all Genetech products it may have distributed, according to the FDA. 3016

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An El Cajon woman watched in disbelief Sunday night as her Amazon package was stolen by the very people who delivered it. Cheryl Cook broke her ankle over the weekend and ordered a large ice pack off Amazon. She chose same-day delivery so that she could start icing her ankle as soon as possible.Cook was able to track the driver’s location and could see when he had arrived at her home. She says the delivery started off strangely when the driver put the package on the front lawn rather than the porch. He then got back in the car, put his flashers on, and drove a few feet up the street. Moments later, a second person got out of the car and stole the package. “I’m injured, I’m home, I can’t get out my own front door, and then my package is stolen by the guy who dropped it off,” said Cook. She shared the video online and heard similar stories. “I wanted people to know what was going on, there might be other people that have lost packages and wondered where they went, and this was very clear-cut; it went right back in the guy’s car.”In a statement to 10News, Amazon said:“This does not reflect the high standards we have for delivery partners. This individual is no longer delivering Amazon packages, and we have reached out to the customer to make things right.”A spokesperson went on to tell 10News that their Amazon Flex delivery partners are thoroughly vetted through a comprehensive, multi-state criminal background check and a review of their motor vehicle records. They say the person who stole Cook’s package passed their background check and delivered Amazon packages for less than a month. Cook was refunded for the ice pack but says she’ll never get back the time and frustration spent over the matter. 1750
