YINCHUAN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- A central delegation led by China's top political advisor Wang Yang on Wednesday arrived in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, to attend festivities marking the 60th anniversary of the region's founding. The central delegation presented the region with souvenirs, including a plaque with an inscription by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
In addition, China supports the UN's leading role in coordinating responses to non-traditional security challenges, Wang added.
Meeting with his German counterpart Heiko Maas, Wang said China is willing to strengthen exchanges with Germany on World Trade Organization (WTO) development and reform, so as to better safeguard its core values, the international trade rules and order as well as the legitimate rights and interests of the developing countries.
"As academic science is a form of diplomacy that brings people together from all different parts of the world to pursue knowledge in pre-competitive areas, it is a tremendous honor to receive this recognition from China," Mirkin said.
Xi urged both countries to combat security challenges, play a constructive role in promoting peace and security in Western Africa and the whole African continent, and strengthen coordination in the United Nations (UN) Security Council so as to safeguard rights and benefits of developing countries.
