Daniel Dorado is the owner of Bird Rock area's Voce Del Mare, an upscale Italian restaurant. He's now behind bars, held on 0,000 bail.Thursday, a woman who didn't want to go on-camera told us she applied for a bartending job at the restaurant a couple of years ago, but was so uncomfortable with Dorado that she declined the job opportunity. She tells us he asked her over the phone about her body type and whether she'd wear revealing clothing. She tells us the inappropriate conversation led to more harassment, after he apparently called and yelled at her that night for being unable to meet in-person. She wanted us to protect her identity, but revealed, "He wanted to know what I was going to be wearing to work. He wanted me to take a picture of [my outfit] and text it to him." She says she quit after a few shifts. Both women felt uncomfortable with Dorado, but say they were horrified after watching a 10News exclusive interview Wednesday night with a young woman who claims he drugged and raped her three years ago when she came into the restaurant to interview for a hostess position. Her attorney says she is one of at least four women that Dorado is charged with assaulting. Dorado is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. 1715
LEXINGTON, Ky. — A car wash in Lexington, Kentucky is offering a wash, a shine, and a scare this Halloween season.Rainstorm Car Wash has transformed its facility into the ‘Tunnel of Terror,’ a family friendly event that will be held every Friday and Saturday night until Halloween.“With all the COVID stuff, a lot of haunted houses weren't open or anything like that,” said Reese Kemp, the manager of Rainstorm's Lexington location. “So we figured let's have a great time.”When Gov. Andy Beshear unveiled his plan for a safe Halloween, he urged people to avoid haunted houses, citing the likelihood that COVID-19 could spread in such tight quarters. Those concerns don’t really apply to a haunted car wash."When you're in your car, you don't have to worry about getting within six feet,” Kemp notes. “Your windows are up the entire time, the [employees] can have a blast and you don't have to worry about coming into contact or spreading or anything like that.”While your car is getting washed, people will notice employees dressed up as scary characters, trailing the cars to give families a fright. As part of the event, Rainstorm has partnered with local food banks. Drivers who bring a canned food item will receive five dollars off their wash. This story originally reported by Mike Valente on LEX18.com. 1315

LEIMERT PARK (CNS) - A 5-year-old boy was killed Wednesday when he apparently found a gun that went off in his hands inside a Leimert Park home. Los Angeles police responded at 1:15 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the home in the 2000 block of Van Ness Avenue, and the child was found inside. ``Initially it appears to be a self-inflicted'' gunshot, an LAPD official told City News Service. RELATED: San Diego gun law: New ordinance requiring safe storage or trigger lock for firearms takes effectNBC4 reported from the scene that the child and three siblings were inside the home with a woman, believed to be the boy's adoptive mother, when the shooting occurred. No other injuries were reported. LAPD Cmdr. Alfred Labrada told the station there does not appear to be any evidence of the bullet being fired into the home from the outside. ``We don't have any reason to believe there's any danger to the surrounding community,'' he said. ``We don't have any information there is a round that was fired into the residence at this point. We are looking at that as a possibility, but we don't see that as having occurred at this residence.'' Leave work at work, or else! Many people dread checking their work email when they're off the clock. Now one New York City official wants to make it illegal to look at work messages after hours. The City Council member plans to pitch a bill this week. While some people love the idea and say they need a break, others say your life and work balance is personal and the government should not be involved. There are also question about exceptions, such as would it apply to those in law enforcement or the medical field? If it passes it would only apply to people in New York City. 594
LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The Citizen Public Safety Oversight Task Force of La Mesa met Wednesday virtually, following two high-profile incidents involving the city's police department. The recently formed group is tasked with looking at whether La Mesa needs a police oversight committee and then decide what it will look like. The group's chair, Jamal McRae, realizes they are a temporary task force, but hopes it rolls over to become the permanent commission."We're still trying to educate ourselves as to what our committee will do, as far as, will be able to have subpoena power? Do we want subpoena power? We're still in the research phase." McRae said. "We're trying to determine whether we want to put this on a ballot to have individuals on the city vote on it, or if we wish the city council will just have the final say.McRae points out the idea for the task force came before the controversial incidents involving La Mesa police officers, and before the national calls for police reform following the death of George Floyd."We're a group of individual citizens that got together and wanted to make a change in the community after the Helix High School incident," McRae said. "So we have been running through some ideas for a few years, just among community members."McRae says the group understands the importance of their work and the urgency to complete their tasks. That's why they have scheduled three meetings next month. The meetings are scheduled for July 1, July 8, and July 15.They hope to present a plan and a sense of direction to the city council by the end of July. 1596
