GODDARD, Kan. (AP) — Authorities discovered a camel, a cow and a donkey roaming together along a Kansas road in a grouping reminiscent of a Midwestern Christmas Nativity scene. The Goddard Police Department asked for help Sunday in locating the owners of the “three friends traveling together (towards a Northern star).”Police said in a Facebook post that if they couldn’t find the owners, they would be “halfway toward a live Nativity this Christmas season.”Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Meyers says the animals belong to an employee of the nearby Tanganyika Wildlife Park. One person who replied to the Facebook post inquired, “Are there 3 wise looking men near?” Another speculated that they “may lead you to the Second Coming.”Goddard is about 15 miles (24 kilometers) west of Wichita. 799

GREELEY, Colo. – Chris Watts is set to be sentenced Monday morning for the murders of his pregnant wife, Shanann, and their two young daughters after he pleaded guilty this month to the killings that roiled their Frederick community earlier this year.Watts, 33, is expected to receive life in prison without the possibility of parole after the possibility he might receive the death penalty went away due to his plea deal.19th Judicial District Attorney Michael Rourke could also speak following the hearing and it’s possible that the autopsy reports for Shanann, Bella and Celeste could be released in the hours or days that follow. On Thursday, a judge granted Watts’ parents the right to speak at the hearing. Shanann’s parents could also deliver victim impact statements in which they could ask the judge for a more-lenient or stronger sentence for Watts. That ruling, paired with The Denver Post’s interview of the woman with whom Watts was having an affair prior to the killings and an?interview with Watts’ parents, have made for high drama ahead of Monday’s hearing.Police arrested Watts late on the night of?Aug. 15 in the alleged killings of Shanann, Celeste and Bella. After Watts initially denied?that he killed them in an interview, police documents said that he admitted to doing so.Prosecutors said they believed Watts killed the three inside the family’s home in Frederick. The affidavit released in August confirmed details that had been previously reported, citing high-ranking sources, that Shanann’s body was buried in a shallow grave at the site and that the bodies of Celeste and Bella were put inside of oil and gas tanks at an Anadarko site in Weld County, where Watts worked before he was fired following his arrest.Chris Watts pleaded guilty Nov. 6 to nine counts in the deaths of his pregnant wife and two daughters: three counts of first-degree murder after deliberation, two counts of first-degree murder – victim under 12/position of trust, one count of first-degree unlawful termination of a pregnancy and three counts of tampering with a deceased human body.In exchange for the guilty plea, the death penalty was taken off the table. Rourke said earlier this month the deal was made with the agreement of Shanann’s family. 2270

Hostess issued a voluntary recall of its Cookies ‘n Crème Brownies on Aug. 3 due to a labeling error. The “contains” statement on the brownies does not list “egg” as an allergen. Although the ingredient list on the packaging includes “egg”, the “contains” statement, which is intended to alert consumers of allergens in the products, does not include “egg”. Hostess said in a press release it was recalling the product out of "an abundance of caution."The following products are affected by the recall:No reports of injury or illness have been reported."Only those consumers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg are potentially at risk of an allergic reaction if they consume these products," the press release said. HAWAII (KGTV) -- The United States Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 struck Hawaii Thursday afternoon.According to the USGS, the quake happened about 1:30 p.m., 11 miles south of Fern Acres on the Big Island. The earthquake was just one of hundreds of earthquakes that have swarmed the island, prompting concerns that Kilauea Volcano could erupt. The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory indicated that a volcanic eruption was possible but not imminent. Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes. The series of earthquakes came after a collapse of a crater floor of Pu?u ?ō?ō, which is a volcanic cone in the eastern rift zone of the Kīlauea Volcano.Since that collapse, about 250 earthquakes were reported in the area into Tuesday evening, according to Hawaiian Volcano Observatory status report.Check out the map below to see the area near where the earthquake hit: 931

Georgina Chapman, the estranged wife of Harvey Weinstein, is speaking out for the first time since her husband was accused by more than 80 women of sexual misconduct. In an interview with Vogue, Chapman maintains that she had no knowledge of the alleged sexual harassment or assaults, and didn't even realize he was unfaithful in their own marriage.Weinstein has repeatedly denied any allegations of "non-consensual sex.""That's what makes this so incredibly painful: I had what I thought was a very happy marriage. I loved my life." Chapman said. "Absolutely not [did she suspect him cheating]. Never. For one thing, he traveled constantly. And I've never been one of those people who obsesses about where someone is."Even Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, stated in her June editor's letter that she is "convinced" Chapman was unaware of Weinstein's alleged misconduct."I am firmly convinced that Georgina had no idea about her husband's behavior; blaming her for any of it, as too many have in our gladiatorial digital age, is wrong," Wintour wrote. "I believe that one should not hold a person responsible for the actions of his or her partner. What Georgina should be receiving is our compassion and understanding."Weinstein is currently under investigation for alleged sex crimes in New York, Los Angeles and London. After the news first broke in The New York Times and The New Yorker last fall, Chapman said her head was "spinning.""I lost ten pounds in five days. I couldn't keep food down," she said. "About two days [to process the news]. My head was spinning. And it was difficult because the first article was about a time long before I'd ever met him, so there was a minute where I couldn't make an informed decision. And then the stories expanded and I realized that this wasn't an isolated incident. And I knew that I needed to step away and take the kids out of here."Chapman married Weinstein in 2007 and together they have two young children. She announced in October that she was leaving Weinstein."I have moments of rage, I have moments of confusion, I have moments of disbelief!" Chapman said. "And I have moments when I just cry for my children. What are their lives going to be? What are people going to say to them? It's like, they love their dad. They love him. I just can't bear it for them!"Chapman, the co-founder of high-end fashion house, Marchesa, said she's made it a point not to attend public events or even be spotted out since October."I was so humiliated and so broken,"she said. "I didn't think it was respectful to go out. I thought, who am I to be parading around with all of this going on? It's still so very, very raw. I was walking up the stairs the other day and I stopped; it was like all the air had been punched out of my lungs."The scandal also led to her decision to cancel the Marchesa runway show in January."We didn't feel it was appropriate given the situation," Chapman added. "All the women who have been hurt deserve dignity and respect, so I want to give it the time it deserves. It's a time for mourning, really."Although she's coming to terms on the end of her marriage and planning a Weinstein-free future with her children, she wants the world to know that she's not looking for anyone to pity her."I don't want to be viewed as a victim," she said. "Because I don't think I am. I am a woman in a sh*t situation." 3382
