Movie mogul and businessman Tyler Perry has joined another elite list: billionaire. Forbes Magazine reports Perry is officially worth one billion dollars.This puts Perry in the same group of billionaires with Oprah Winfrey, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.Forbes says Perry owns the rights to all 22 of his movies, which have grossed nearly a billion dollars to date. He also owns more than 1,200 TV episodes, about two dozen plays and a studio lot in Atlanta.“I mostly go on my gut and my instinct. I like to challenge the system and see what I can do differently,” Perry told Forbes recently for a piece on his billionaire status.Perry was once homeless, and grew up in poverty in New Orleans. “I love when people say you come from ‘humble beginnings,’ ” he told Forbes. “[It] means you were poor as hell.”In early August, Tyler Perry Studios completed filming season 2 of “Sistas,” a comedy-drama on BET. MISSOURI (KMOV) -- A state representative from western Missouri wants to ban porn access for everyone in the state unless you pay up.Representative Jim Neely (R-Cameron) says the idea behind his bill is simple: protecting kids.The bill says a distributor who makes or sells a product that is accessible to the internet, like a phone or a computer would be required to install a blocking software that would prevent the device from accessing obscene material.Neely says it would apply to all porn. A person could have the blocking software removed if they prove they are more 18-years-old and pays a deactivation fee. The money would go into a fund called the “Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Prevention Fund.”When pressed on how the blocking software would work, Neely said it would be similar to how schools block students from websites, but when pressed he admitted, he wasn’t sure of the logistics.“I’m a physician, I don’t know computers,” said Neely in a phone interview.Cindy Wallace is the manager of Simple Pleasures Boutique in south St. Louis. They have a large adult video collection.“I just don’t see how they would be able to do it number one and number two, I think there are more things in every single state to worry about besides people watching porn,” said Wallace.The ACLU of Missouri said the bill adds an “unreliable and unconstitutional filter.”“While this legislation may seem like a way to make communities safer, it will cause more harm than good by censoring constitutionally protected speech and creating far-reaching, long-term consequences when it comes to Missourians’ privacy,” said Jeffrey Mittman, executive director, ACLU of Missouri“This bill will invade the privacy of Missourians who have not engaged in any criminal act.”The bill says if a distributor fails to block the prohibited sites, they could face a civil lawsuit.News 4 asked Attorney General Josh Hawley about the proposed legislation but he said he would have to read up on it.Nearly identical legislation was introduced in Alabama and Rhode Island.The bill has not yet gone to committee. 2112

More members of the migrant caravan walked through the streets of Tijuana Tuesday morning, this time heading to the U.S. Consulate instead of the border.The group reached their destination at around 11 a.m. after a nearly two-hour trek. The migrants, who had police escorts, made it clear their intentions were peaceful.The group members held various banners as they marched, including one that read: “You got it wrong, Trump. We asked for jobs and you responded with weapons. That is not polite. If asking for work is troublesome, then I am totally confused. La Caravana.”A source said the migrants dropped off a petition asking the consulate to allow everyone in the caravan entry into the U.S. The migrants requested a response within 72 hours.Additionally, the migrants said they want the U.S. government to provide ,000 for their trips back to their respective home countries if they aren't allowed asylum in the United States.After delivering the petition, the migrants returned to their shelters.It is unknown what the migrants plan to do if they do not receive a response within 72 hours.The migrants’ journey to the U.S. Consulate came as President Trump reinforced his desire to build a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.The president, during a Tuesday meeting in the Oval Office with Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, said he was not afraid to shut down the federal governmentif billion in funding for border security was not approved.“I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck. NATIONAL CITY, Calif., (KGTV) -- National City Police needs your help in locating a missing man. 35-year-old Melvin Ray Lachica was last seen at the Aloha Village Apartments on East 9th and Palm Avenue in National City on August 13, 2019. The Marine Veteran is 5'6'' tall, about 170 lbs, and has a skin-colored old scar on his forehead. Lachica's family says he suffers from PTSD. Family and fellow former Marines searched for Lachica in the Mission Trails area Saturday, hoping to locate him there. However, they did not find him.
